Red.

Leah saw red.

She had never believed people could get so angry they only saw red. Leah had thought that was a load of bull, but, she was proven wrong, by the heart shattering scene that stood in front of her.

A wave of emotions crashed down on Leah, drowning her; betrayal, hatred, heart ache, but most of all, anger.

Leah was beyond pissed. She was fuming, she was seething. Her body began to shake uncontrollably, her breathing came in short, deep puffs. Her hands formed tight fists, her knuckles turning white. She wanted to scream, to punch, to kick, to do something, anything. She wanted them to feel the same way she way feeling, absolute torture.

Leah's eyes were murderous. The cold glare in them was sure to make any living thing run away in fear for it's life.

Sam and Emily quickly pulled away, clearly caught off guard, they resembled a pair of deer caught in the light shinning from a car's headlights, a car that was clearly about to run them over and kill them.

Shock and a large amount of guilt was written all over their faces.

"Leah!" Emily shouted, she stepped away from Sam and took a small step towards Leah. "Leah, wait. I can explain. I didn't wa-"

Leah took a step back, "Emily, don't." she sent her cousin the coldest glare she could muster.

The fierceness of Leah's tone was frightening, as was the look in her eyes. Her eyes resembled that of an enraged animal. Never had Sam nor Emily hear Leah speak with such a dangerous tone. Emily shuddered backwards, moving to hide behind Sam.

An awkward silence took over. Leah could only continue to glare at the traitors with the deadliest of glares. "Leah," Sam's deep voice boomed throughout the silence.

Leah's gaze snapped towards her boyfriend, well ex-boyfriend now. Sam adverted his eyes, he couldn't handle looking into Leah's. Not when clear hurt was present in them. Sam felt incredibly ashamed. He hadn't planned for the night to go this way, it just did.

Sam only wanted to come and offer his support to Leah, he wanted to apologize. Sam came in hopes of being able to help Leah get over the loss of her father, but when he arrived (and Leah was nowhere sight) he took one glance at Emily and everything changed.

Emily nearly jumped five feet into the air when Leah turned around abruptly and smashed her fist against the wall. Leah didn't scream or cry out in pain, instead she readied to throw another punch. Sam rushed over, pulling Leah away before she could create another hole in the wall.

"Don't fucking touch me you asshole!" Leah shoved Sam away, she glared at him for a split second before raising her fist and punching him square in the jaw. The attack seemed to not phase Sam at all. His head didn't even tilt to the side from the harsh blow. It remained perfectly straight, facing Leah. Leah's eyes shot up in pain as her hand began to sting. Hitting Sam was more painful than hitting the wall. Sam was a bit upset at the fact Leah had hit him, but he knew he deserved that punch and so many more. He willed the small anger he felt to go away and glanced at Leah with a solemn look.

Leah glanced back and forth between Sam and Emily. They looked at her with sadness and remorse. Leah hated it, it made her angry. The anger was returning. This time, it had intensified by a dozen. The more she saw Sam and Emily the more angrier she got. She could kill them for their betrayal.

At the thought of killing, it seemed as is Leah went animalistic.

A growl erupted from inside, her jaw clenched. Images of ripping into Sam and Emily flooded her mind. She pounced on them, claws replacing her fingernails as she dug into their skin. Visions of transforming into an untamed, wild version of herself snapped Leah back into reality.

What the fuck had that been?

Emily and Sam stared at Leah, observing her mortified expression, believing it was their fault, when in reality it was the gruesome pictures in her head that had her scared shitless.

Leah shook her head, gathering her thoughts. She refused to show how much pain she was in "You two deserve each other." she spat, spinning on her heels and walking out the door.

"Leah, no! Wait-!" the door slamming cut Emily off.

Leah once again, began to run. She ran and ran, she ignored the calls of her names behind her. She had no idea where her mother and brother were at the moment but she knew that once they came home and saw that she wasn't, she would be fucked. Her mother was going to be so pissed.

A familiar path appeared, Leah hadn't had a particular place in mind but her feet brought her to the cliff's side of their own. She trudged to the tippy top, staring out at the star covered night and dark waves that rumbled below her. She glanced over the cliff, taking in the extremely long distance between the cliff and the water.

What if I jumped?

The thought didn't scare Leah, it was rather comforting. The loss of her father and the betrayal of her cousin and boyfriend was excruciating.

Leah walked away from the cliff's edge and sat against a nearby tree. One that still gave her a clear view of the ocean below.

It was a beautiful sight, Leah had to admit.

The way the dark waters matched with the dark sky was oddly tranquilizing.

Leah sat there, against the tree's trunk. Allowing her mind to go absolutely blank. She blocked out everything. She just wanted, even if only for a while, to feel . . . nothing.

Pushing everything from her mind wasn't easy. Still, she tried by closing her eyes and taking in the sounds of the oceans below her, and it worked.

Leah's mind went blank, well it went dark. Blackness was all she saw and the sound of roaring waves was all that she focused on.

A few minutes passed, Leah reached into her pocket and pulled out her phone.

11:59 were the numbers that glared at her from her phone's lock-screen. She had a couple of missed calls, some from Emily and some from her mother. Leah released a sigh, she turned her phone around in her hands. She removed the back lid and pulled out the phone's battery. She threw it over her shoulder, followed by her phone. She didn't care if it had broken or if she would be able to find it later.

Leah couldn't bring herself to care. Not anymore, not after today.

Everything she ever truly cared about was ruined.

Her father was gone, taken away from her from a heart attack.

Her boyfriend had disappeared for weeks, only to reappear to kiss her cousin.

Leah had no idea how that had happened, but she didn't need the details, nothing could ever be a good enough excuse for their treachery.

A sudden choking sound left Leah's lips. The sobs came on their own, climbing up her throat and escaping into the quiet night. The tears following closely behind.

Leah felt pathetic, crying. But what else could she do?

To say Leah was in pain would an understatement.
