*~*~ ??? POV ~*~*
I formed a temporary ghost-like version of a mortal body, gazing upon my precious child. She was beautiful, but the tears that streaked down her cheeks made me frown. What had those swines done to my baby? She was cradling her arm to her chest, falling to her knees in the middle of the clearing that I was standing on the edge of. I could not hear her sobs, she did not make a sound. My little girl...
I made a breeze whistle through the branches of my trees, wrapping around her fragile body. It was the best I could do to comfort her, give her the closest thing to a hug I could make. I'm sure that my grandson won't mind me messing with his winds a little. There's always a bigger thing going on that he has to worry about, so he won't notice a few stray breezes. I echoed my voice across the wisp of wind, which shocked her into looking up, then gasping in pain. Lucky for her, I managed to see most of her injuries before she curled into a ball once more.
I was angry. Those ungrateful little pigs went and hurt my daughter, when I heard them say that they would give her the best life they could possibly offer. If they knew what power they had been keeping within their home, they would be bowing before her, begging for her forgiveness! Why I should...
I cleared my mind of revenge, focusing on my hurt baby. I knew exactly what to do to heal her, but I needed her to stay calm, and not freak like she did when I first spoke. I made my voice float on the breeze once again, telling her to calm down and that I would help her. She seemed to quiet down quite considerably, but I found it adorable as she lent into the warm wind. Furrowing my brows, I focus my energy onto her wounds so that she would not burn up, but be completely healed. It's harder than it looks, but fortunately I have had a bit of practise over the millennia.
I smiled to myself as the last small cuts on her arms faded away, not even leaving a scar. She sighed in content, and I felt compelled to jump down from my perch to bring her into my temporary arms, tell her that she was never going to be hurt again, never feel pain again. But I had to restrain myself, it could scare her and having a jumpy child just made the matter worse.
I felt my senses reach out into the surrounding area, trying to search for that oracle girl that my baby has a soft spot for. I found her presence in the camp, but what startled me was that there was a strong stench of death nearby. A hellhound seemed to be taking a pleasant walk through my woods, following the scent of my daughter. I felt my body stiffen up, as I heard a growl come from the opposite side of the trees to me. I spread my senses out as fast as they could go, and I almost teared up in relief as I felt the oracle girl's presence in my woods.
I sent out another wind, forcing it to blow in the direction of the clearing. She seemed confused, and ignored it. So I sent out one more, and this time I placed my voice along it. She looked like she got the gist, and ran with the wind. I was watching as that vile creature placed itself closer and closer to my child, taking pleasure in the shocked fear scent she was producing. I sighed as the oracle girl reached the place where we were, and I cracked a small smile gratefully as she pounced at the hound, pushing it away from my baby.
Then, I realised that she wasn't much of a fighter. I felt like slapping my hand against my forehead, a move I had seen performed by mortals and demigods alike, something they called a 'facepalm'. Most did it only when they were annoyed or disappointed. I was both. What did my daughter see in this mortal? Oh well, I wasn't going to interfere with what my baby's wishes were, and if she wanted a friend such as this oracle girl, then so be it. I felt darkness stir on the edge of one of my trees.
I watched as two boys stepped out, the taller one running forward while the other slumped against the trunk of my tree. I assume that this boy was the one that shadow travelled. I felt like scoffing at how much energy he used up, stupid son of Hades. Turning back to the one that had run into the fight, I saw that he was now protecting both the oracle girl and (most likely unknowingly) my daughter. I felt my lips curl up into a slight grin as I watched the son of Poseidon. A breath of air left my mouth, he would've made one of my best soldiers. Unfortunately he refused, loyalty can be such a pain. But in a situation like this, I admire it (mostly because my daughter would've died otherwise).
"M'lady?"
My focus was torn from the fight as I heard a voice call out to me from behind. Swivelling around, I caught sight of a dear friend, beckoning me towards them. I felt my senses relax almost immediately at their presence. Taking one last glance at the demigods, I saw them finally send the hellhound back to Tartarus. Knowing that my baby was safe for now, I followed my dear friend through my forest, my transparent form shimmering in the last strong rays of light.
