Oz made no objections when he was isolated within his room.
As expected, his father paid him no attention when Ciel left, despite knowing that Oz has been arrested for murder. Any normal aristocrat would've punished him for such a circumstance fearing for their reputation. And in truth, being punished wouldn't have been so bad to Oz if it meant his father spared even a glance at him.
He could only curl up in a ball on his bed, clutching the tiny stuffed rabbit close to his chest. As he buried his face into it, the light scent of Ciel was the only thing keeping him together.
"I'm pathetic," Oz murmured, unable to stop himself from laughing at his current predicament. "I couldn't even save one missing girl..." His words trailed off as he closed his eyes.
In his mind he could see her, laying lifelessly on the ground. Moments, mere moments ago she was alive. Oz had just missed the killer by mere moments.
A light knock on his door jolted Oz out of his thoughts and he sat up suddenly. The door opened to reveal the familiar sight of his sister Ada.
She was still wearing her school uniform and a look of concern in her eyes. "I heard you were arrested and then set free. I had to come see you. I was so worried..." Ada's eyes watered and she stepped closer to Oz.
She then wrapped him in a tight embrace. "Don't scare me like that..."
"I'm sorry, I won't get into trouble like that again."
Oz began patting his sister's head, a light smile on his face.
When Ada pulled back she sniffled and wiped her nose before her eyes wandered over to the toy rabbit. Immediately, her eyes lit up, "Onii-chan! Is this the limited edition Rabbit from Funtom?! There's only a hand full of these on the market and they're highly priced! Kyaa, it's so cute!" She squealed, hugging the toy rabbit tight before blushing and handing it back. "Ah, sorry."
"No, it's fine," Oz giggled.
Ada smiled before she stood up suddenly, "Ah, I'm sorry! I have to go! I'm not really allowed for prolonged visits since school's still ongoing. I'll see you again Onii-chan!"
"Yeah, see you soon," Oz responded, waving. Ada waved back before leaving the room quickly.
Oz sighed and smiled to himself before glancing at the Rabbit. "Limited edition huh?"
The toy rabbit's glassy blue eyes stared up at him invitingly. Oz grabbed it and gave it a squeeze, promising himself that he would cherish it forever.
As he stared into the glassy blue eyes it dawned on him that the eyes were similar to Ciel's. Running a finger over the fabric Oz blushed at the thought of having a mini version of Ciel in his hands.
After gently nuzzling his nose against the toy's, he laid down on the bed while holding it tightly to his chest as he allowed the sweet scent to put him to sleep.
