So let's start off simple.....with Mary, Mary Quite Contrary, but before we start i need to go over a few things.

1: I RESEARCH! Ok? So don't be all weird that I know stuff! I like to uncover the truth...like a reporter!

2: I am an editor, so if you need any advice, editing, etc. I'm here.

3: follow me please!

4: I am a Potterhead! I have a HP fanfic on my account.

5: I think that's all I just wanted five....

Let's start with the crushing.

"Contrary" is one way to describe a murderous psychopath. This popular English nursery rhyme, which reads like a solicitation for gardening advice, is actually a recounting of the homicidal nature of Queen Mary I of England, a.k.a. Bloody Mary. A fierce believer in Catholicism, her reign as queen—from 1553 to 1558—was marked by the execution of hundreds of Protestants. Also, silver bells and cockle shells are torture devices, not garden accouterments.

Therefore, it is a nursery rhyme about Bloody Mary torturing somebody....yay? Doesn't that hurt though? I mean seriously... You grow up hearing is and then BOOM you find out it's about torturing people....that's great.

Here's a hint... Don't tell this to your children!
