Short story (300+) because how the HELL do I write an 800+ word story about this?!
F A C T :
Thomas Jefferson owned a sheep he described as "this abominable animal" He kept it in front of the White House where it attacked several people and killed a 19-year-old boy in 1808.
S T O R Y :
"Fluffy, NO!" President Jefferson ran after the sheep, trying to avoid the rocks and holes in the grass. It was not an uncommon sight to see the president running in front of the white house after his sheep. The creature attacks people and even killed someone once. still, Jefferson kept it tied to a post outside the white house, despite seeing him chew through the rope. Before Hamilton's death four years earlier, He would joke about Jefferson's taste in pets. His favorite, of course, was the mockingbird named dick. After his owner.
"Need some help?" Vice President James Madison walked up behind Jefferson, startling him. They laughed as the sheep chased a stray dog off.
"Yeah, thanks. I can't keep up a good chase anymore, I guess." Jefferson pulled blades of grass from his wig and turned to his friend.
"I know what you're thinking. If Alexander were here I'd chase his ass all the way back to Monticello, But he's not. I get you were once friends but it's been four years. Stop thinking of the Hamiltons and help me run this country. And get this sheep." Jefferson took off across the field, chasing Fluffy with a rope. Madison shook his head and called his dog.
"It took three hours, but The damn thing is finally back at the post." Jefferson huffed, out of breath and sweating, looking worse than Hamilton out the Hudson.
"Thomas, It's dying." Madison stared at the sheep as it breathed rapidly, heat exhaustion setting in. The only way they were able to catch it was because it is literally dying. Jefferson smiled, looking as though he went crazy, before walking back to the front doors of the White House.
"Yeah, I know. Meet me inside, Madison. We're having lamb for dinner."
