As we last left poor Douglas; he was now cursed with eternal life. Oh no what is this, said Douglas. I have blessed you my sweet. Who are you? Douglas could not grasp the situation just yet. I am a lonely women who is in need of someone to call my own; a man, no, a gentlemen. You for the bill Douglas. You still aren't telling me who you are. My name is Mademoiselle Josephine. Well it's a pleasure but, why have you given me immortality? As I said sweet Douglas, I am a women who needs you, someone with your moxy is sure to treat men the way I am quenching for. But, why? You're special Douglas, your soul glows a certain way that is compatible with mine. I do however understand if you are not ready; so I shall wait a lifetime longer if need be. Douglas looked to her with a heavy heart and, eyes of tears. His imense sympathetic nature made him feel sorry for her. Mademoiselle, I am sorry to hear that but, I don't believe that I am truly ready. Very well, Josephine said; sadly so I have no choice. No choice but, what? This frightened Douglas even more. My only choice is to test your heart and, weigh it against my lonesome. If your passion out weighs that then I shall allow us to either remain immortal or, rejoice with father time and, die together. I do hope you are ready my sweet Douglas. Your test begins in the morning. Once I feel you are ready I shall check your heart in between tests to mark your progress. I shall wait for you my love.
