"Finally. What's the news?" Asks the leader, addressing the small messenger boy. The leader stands in white, making the glare from it one of the only things visible in the room, and making the darkness press harder around the edges of the robe. The leader stands tall, and you cannot see his face. The messenger trembles.
"Sir," He starts, his voice high. "She was seen helping in a fire. One of ours, actually, though I don't think she knew it was one of ours. She opened all the windows to let out the smoke, and she rescued the person we were trying to kill. Again, she isn't aware this was one of our fires. Right before she arrived at the fire, she was seen running out of a small sandwich shop. And, um, she's made a name for herself." The messenger adds quickly, scared.
He slides a paper printout of a blog towards the leader. The leader takes the paper and reads the article, becoming more furious with every written word.
"Requested to be called 'Claws'?" The leader mutters. "A brilliant light in an era of darkness?" He adds, his voice rising. "A beacon for all who need her?" He continues, practically shouting. He slams down the paper. "What is this? This- drivel? Guards!" He calls. He turns to the messenger. "Thanks you. You may go." The messenger bows and hurries out, thankful.
The leader turns to the guards.
"I want you to post people around the sandwich shop she was seen in, and if you see her, grab her, and bring her to me. Try to dress like normal people, won't you?" He demands, furious. "I will not let her slip out of my fingers again!"
The roar of his shout echoes through the halls of ARSON. Everyone stopped, and all at once, began to fear for their lives...
