We arrive to the sprawling campus that looks nicer than most colleges, much less other high schools. I thank god that we made it alive after all of the drifting and messing around in the rain Weston did. He loved making the girls squeal as his car spun through the rain but I feel like I've got motion sickness from it all. I swear all men are children, the bodies just get bigger.

Not going to think what on Weston's body definitely got bigger.

"Everyone out!" Weston laughs, laying on the horn to make a few students walking in front of his parking space jump.

You don't have to tell me twice.

Next time, given the choice between swimming to school and riding with Weston I'm choosing the latter. I end up soaking wet either way, at least the other option gets me away from him.

I jump free from the car and bolt through the lot and up the nicely manicured, but extremely squishy lawn, and I jerk open one of the huge doors and walk into the joyous non-wet inside. I never thought I'd be so happy to make it to school. I almost hug one of the giant white pillars in the open lobby but just as quickly as my joy comes, it disappears when I remember what today is.

I look down at the maroon marbled floor and the puddle forming around my feet and sigh. "Why is this my life?" I ask myself.

"Lena!" My best friend,Yasmine, bursts through the front door, putting away her umbrella in the bins by the door like all of the other students smart enough to have their own umbrellas. I roll my eyes at her fancy red raincoat and matching boots. Of course she and everyone else can manage to look great today while I look like a drowned rat.

"Ugh." I grunt, stomping away with the annoying squeak of my shoes announcing my presence to the world.

"Lena, wait up!" Yas calls, jogging to catch up to me as I rush through the main floor and hit the stairs to the junior floor. "Where's the fire?" She laughs.

"Why is your hair always so perfect?" I sigh as I double time it to the furthest bathroom on our floor because I know it's my best chance at getting some privacy.

Yas rolls her big almond shaped onyx eyes and fluffs a hand up under her thick shoulder length black curls. "Oh this?" She giggles and I bump her with my shoulder before I bust into the bathroom going directly to the hand dyers on the wall and shoving my body beneath it. Yasmine can't help but laugh while she watches from where she perches up on the white countertop. "You going to tell me what the heck happened to you?"

I glare her way. "Weston freaking Ford happened."

She grits her teeth, making a SSSSS sound. "Enough said."

I get my clothes as dry as possible and then walk over to the counter by Yas and I groan at my appearance. "This whole day is a joke."

She smiles, picking up some of my damp frizzy hair and then drops it. "You can't do the speech like this." She tells me and I narrow my eyes at her. I need a pep talk right now, not the truth.

"I don't have a choice." I sigh, the defeat clear in my grey eyes.

She jumps down with a twinkle in her eyes that always means she's up to something. "Come on," she grabs my hand and hauls me out of the bathroom. "we've got some more time before homeroom." We rush through the halls, ignoring the weird looks we get form some of the other girls and guys that we pass. We head up the stairs into the career tech wing and she shoves me into the cosmetology room that's not in use this period. "I will not hear any refusals from you, missy." She winks. "Now sit your fine ass down in this chair so I can make my best friend even more fine."
