she was happy.
as of this moment, she was contented. just being in the arms of the person she loved most was enough. she didn't need to be rich, or to be well-known just to be happy. her life as it is was already enough.
as the fans screamed in adoration, she, too, joined in as tears welled up in her eyes. albeit she just saw her boyfriend, she already missed him. she loved going to their concerts. she loved it when fans showed their utmost support for the group.
so while jung hoseok and the rest of his band sang their hearts out, she could only hear the sound of her lover's voice as she closed her eyes in bliss.

“you did great, hoseok!” she cheered, tackling the said male as she laughed along with him. hoseok placed his arms around y/n, melting into the hug.
“thank you~!” he had replied, soon breaking the hug while he placed both of his hands on the female's shoulders.
“y/n,” hoseok started, a small smile on his face as he made eye contact with her.
“what is it, hoseok?”
“after tour.. i have something to tell you, it's very, very important.” he smiled. for a second, his eyes seemed to show a glint of sadness but it was soon waved off by the seemingly forced happy façade.
she smiled, nodding, soon hugging him again.
“alright!” she beamed, showing hoseok a close-eyed smile as he then chuckled.
“hmm, so what do you want to do?”

she was satisfied.
she wasn't complaining, she wasn't asking for more. she was satisfied. but that doesn't mean that she was already happy. sometimes, satisfaction is just a limit that states if she was already okay with things.
and she was.
to say so the least. lately, as the tour progressed, hoseok had wanted her to stay at home and just sleep whenever there's a concert. she tried her best to stay cheerful and send utmost support to him, each day never failing to send him messages.
at first, it was alright.
he would often reply and then make plans with her, telling her that he loves her and he misses her. she was satisfied, even if she hadn't seen him for a long time.
even if they didn't have dates anymore, even if they didn't spend time together. she was satisfied just being able to communicate with him.
but then.. he stopped replying.
she would reassure herself that he was just busy, and that maybe she was bothering him if she messaged him. she was anxious, not wanting to seem clingy and annoying in his perspective.
she was seated on a park bench, she stared at the ground as the kids ran around. there were a fair amount of people in the park, some were having a picnic, some were playing, and some were taking a stroll.
she was jealous of them, but she did not need to show it.
over time, she had realized that she and hoseok had drifted apart. whenever she would see a picture of him, all she could feel was sadness. she didn't feel the usual butterflies and warm feeling. her heart didn't race anymore. but deep down, she knew she loved him. she had to, right? that was the commitment she signed up to. through thick and thin, she had to love and support him.
she knew it was hard, falling inlove with an idol like him. busy schedules, fans not approving of their relationship. she knew all about it and yet she stayed by his side.
falling out of love was harder, though.
maybe, she didn't love him anymore. maybe she needed to leave him. maybe she just needed a break.
she never wanted to fall out of love— if anything, she wanted to spend the rest of her life with him. but would she be happy? no.
she would just be satisfied.
in the midst of staring at the sky, someone sat next to her and held her hand. she turned her head to face him.
“ah, hello.”
she greeted, a small smile on her face. she soon gulped and watched as the kids played, distracting her.
“y/n,” hoseok started, releasing a heavy sigh. he had bags under his eyes, and he was exhausted.
“yeah?”
he moved closer to her, placing an arm around her shoulder before soon placing a kiss on her forehead.
“do you love me?” he asked. she chuckled, smiling at him. she leaned her head on his shoulder, the corners of her eyes were threatening to let tears slide down her cheeks.
“i don't know. do you?” he felt sad, squeezing the object in his pocket as he hoped for the best.
“i love you, y/n. do you love me?” she frowned, sighing before soon standing up.
“hoseok, why are you asking me this?” she questioned, furrowing her eyebrows. hoseok sighed, pulling out the object in his pocket, keeping it hidden from the female.
“i've loved you from the beginning. and i'll keep loving you. but right now? i think i just need a break, hoseok. i'll love you, but.. just not now. i'm weak and i'm confused. i think.. i think we should just break it off.”
deep down, she knew she couldn't fulfill her promise. she knew she didn't love him. maybe she'll love him again. maybe, just maybe.
love.. it meant that you would choose your partner with no hesitation. it meant that you would never need to think twice of saying i love you.
but this was not love.
hoseok was more than heartbroken. he clutched the ring in his hand, staring at the ground. he loved her— he knew he used to. but as of this moment? he, too, was not sure. he thought that maybe he still did, so his option was to propose.
he planned to do this. with some thinking before he came here, he understood that maybe, he didn't love her now, because of the distance that kept them apart. he thought that his feelings would go back after being with her again.
he would take the risk, because he knew that he enjoyed being with her.
she knew she fell out of love, and she knew that hoseok did, too. she knew it was too good to be true. because being with hoseok was just like a dream to her.
and like every dream..
she had to wake up.
