Could this be any worse?

You sighed heavily as your physics teacher, Mr. Owlson, droned on about Newton's laws and kinematics and gravity, which, naturally, didn't spark your interest at all. You were more of a Biology kind of girl, anyway. You had always loved the natural world and all of the interesting creatures that lived on this planet significantly more than the reason behind why objects fall when you drop them. So of course physics was always torture for you. You glanced up at the clock and groaned to yourself when you noticed that only five minutes had passed since you last peeked at the time. And to make matters worse, the class still had forty-five more minutes left.

Yup, nothing could be worse than this.

It felt like an eternity, but the bell that signaled the end of class finally rang, and you shot up like a rocket at the sound of it. You grabbed your books off of your desk, slung your (f/c) backpack onto your back, and quickly exited the torturous classroom. You weren't surprised that you were the first person out of the room. Mr. Owlson shot you a brief look of disproval, but you ignored it. It's not like you did poorly in his class, you just never participated or paid any attention to his lectures, which clearly annoyed him, but it didn't bother you in the slightest.

As you made your way to the cafeteria, you stopped by your locker to gather your books for your afternoon classes. You bent down to place your textbooks into your bag when suddenly you felt someone grab your shoulders roughly and shout "BOO!" You nearly had a heart attack as you fell over onto the floor while your saboteur was kneeled over with laughter.

"You--you should have seen--your face--priceless!" the person shouted while you stood up, brushing yourself off. Normally you would have been furious and given the person who scared you a few choice words, but since it was your best friend (f/n) you decided to let it slide. This wasn't the first time she had scared the living daylights out of you, so you had gotten somewhat used to her stupid pranks. Besides, this was probably payback for when you poured soy sauce into her coffee at lunch last week. That had been pretty hilarious.

"Ok, ok, you got me good, I'll admit it," you said, putting your hands up in mock surrender.

As if on cue, (f/n) stated, "I was only getting back at you for the whole soy sauce incident last week!"

You smirked mischievously. "One of my better pranks, if I do say so myself."

(F/n) smiled back. "Well, now we're even. You wanna head to the cafeteria? It's pizza day!"

You instantly felt your spirits soar. "Hell yeah! Let's go," you replied. Pizza just happened to be your favorite food, so your mood always increased whenever the cafeteria served it.

After you finished packing, the two of you began walking towards the cafeteria, discussing who had started dating who and what new movies you wanted to see. As you entered the cafeteria, you saw (b/n), (f/n)'s boyfriend of two years, waving the two of you over to sit with him. After picking up your food, you and (f/n) happily took your seats at the circular table with (b/n) and a couple of your other friends. Lunch passed by quickly as you gobbled down your pizza and listened to your friends fight over whether Marvel or DC had better movies. The sound of the bell echoed throughout the large cafeteria, and you sighed deeply. Time to go to Calculus...

"Hey, (y/n), are you coming?"

You looked up to see (f/n) and the rest of your friends heading in the opposite direction of your classroom. "Sorry, (f/n), but my next class is the other way. I'll be late if I walk with the rest of you."
