Light and dark danced before her closed eyes. Her head felt heavy yet also light. She could feel cold ground beneath her. Her body felt like stone and she couldn't move an inch. Where was she? Who was she? She didn't know anything passed the throbbing in her head. She lay there not sure how much time had passed. Until she could feel some of her strength returning. She opened her eyes. It was dark and it took her a moment to make out her surroundings. She was in a cage made of wood. Above her the stars sparkled. She gazed at them trying to remember who she was. The sound of footsteps made her turn her head. Someone was with her in this cage. A man with red hair. He helped her sit up. "Finally awake?" He's voice almost sounded like a song. She nodded as she looked at him an unspoken question in her eyes. He smiled. "They got you pretty badly, Wouldn't be surprised if you lost some of your memories. But rest assured. It'll all be fine. Here I got you something to eat and drink." He gave her a bowl of soup. Without a word she took it from him and ate hardly tasting it. She was so hungry that she could eat a whole horse. When she had emptied the bowl and wanted to ask for more the man pushed her the drink into her hands. Irritated she looked at him as her brain slowly started to work. He said that someone had hurt her badly. But why would someone hurt her? Her eyes narrowed on his face. In the dark his eyes looked strange. There was this golden glow around the edges of his eyes. Unnatural, inhuman. She looked at his hair once more. Red. Red hair. Something pulled in the back of her mind. Pulsing, throbbing. The answers seemed so close yet so far. The man smiled at her faintly. "Drink, you will feel better."
She put the goblet to her mouth hesitated a moment than drink. As the liquid went down her throat alarm bells went off in her head. She knew what this was. A drug. A memory rubbing drug. She looked at the man her eyes now wide as she had this one moment of clarity. Phoenix. He was a Phoenix and the Phoenix had taken her. Her vision became clouded and all she could do was mutter a curse before darkness claimed her again.
The sound of birds broke the everlasting silence. Her head throbbed and it was hard to move her body. Like she had been on this ground for ages. With some effort she opened her eyes. The sunlight burned and she had to close her eyes again. She groaned. Then slowly opened her eyes again. She waited until her eyes got used to the sunlight before mustering the strength to sit up. She was in this wooden cage. Strange. She didn't remember being in a cage. She didn't remember being anywhere. She put a hand to her temple. And pain shut through her. There was a bandage around her arm. And now she saw that one she was aware of more bandages all over her body. She had been hurt. How? Who? She couldn't even remember her own name. A strange fear took her. Who was she? She looked around her now. She was in some kind of village. There were strange tents. Most covered in the weirdest paintings. She didn't know what any of it meant. Yet she found them strangely beautiful. There were walking around in the distance. All of them had red hair and wore hardly any clothes as far as she could see. A strange sense of knowledge pulled in the back of her mind. But she couldn't make sense of it. she looked around her little cage. It was quit small. Like it wasn't meant for her to walk around in. The grass below her had already started to slowly die. That wasn't right. It meant she had been laying there for a very long time. She bite her lip trying hard to remember anything. Something had happened, something was wrong. What was it? She studied her cage. Wood bound by some sort of wire. Weird. Did a wire hold all of it together? A bird landed on her cage and she looked up in surprise. It was a strange bird. Red and golden. Now she thought about it. It seemed to big to be an kind of normal bird. And it seemed to study her like she studied him. She swallowed. For some reason it felt as if the bird could stare into her soul. The massive bird tilted it's head. Then turned it's head a bit to the other side but it's eyes never left her. Until a female voice said. "Ah you're finally awake." She turned to the voice. A little girl had entered her cage. With a bowl and a goblet. "You must be starving. Here I got you food and water." The little girl smiled. "Eat up." With that the girl pushed the bowl of soup into her hands. She stared at the soup a strange feeling pulsing through her. Some how this seemed... strange. She looked at the bird once more only to find it disappeared. She frowned. "The bird.." She began. But the girl caught her of. "What bird? There are no birds here. You must still be sick. You should really eat now to regain your strength." She sighed and ate. The soup tasted some what strange. Some spice she had Probably never eaten before. When she was done eating she put the bowl down and drank from the goblet. Instantly regretting. As she made out the drug in her drink she looked at the girl a question in her eyes. But the girl just smiled at her. "Sleep well bitch princess." For a moment she could see her palace again. Her family. Her friends. Her people. A painful ache wrapped around her heart. Before she lost herself in darkness.
