After a week of really hard work of practicing and getting ready for their comeback, Baekhyun decided he had been waiting too long to find out if he had a chance with Kris.
They would make a comeback and start promotions soon, and that did not leave much personal time.
He had to know, before he drove himself crazy.
They found out they had an upcoming schedule in Busan, and that might be the perfect opportunity for Baekhyun to mention it. This was on his mind almost constantly, even when he tried to ignore it. He would just bide his time and see how it ended up…after the schedules of course.
The ride to Busan was tiring, and Baekhyun ended up sleeping most of the way there. When he woke up, he found himself leaning against Kris. He apologized, mumbling something about being too tired to stay awake.
Kris laughed at him. “Baekhyun, I don’t mind you falling asleep on me. You’re my dongsaeng.”
Baekhyun smiled, glancing out the window. 'Dongsaeng'... He changed the subject. “I think we are getting close to Busan. I’m glad, because I am ready to get out of this stuoid thing and stretch my legs.”
LuHan laughed, overhearing them.
Baekhyun realized he had forgotten about the other ten members.
“You have no idea how it is to need leg room. Think of the tall members.” LuHan laughed at his own joke, but got elbowed in the ribs by SeHun. The young Korean did not look amused. LuHan rolled his eyes, but moved his arm when SeHun started to lay his head in his lap.
Baekhyun glanced at the two of them, smiling. They looked so happy around one another, despite SeHun’s stoic nature. He wondered if they had ever had the same thoughts for one another that he had for Kris. He wouldn’t doubt it.
He watched LuHan lean over and whisper something to SeHun. The maknae smiled, walking over to LuHan's bag, rummaging around.
Baekhyun was just getting his bags ready, when he heard a gasp from Xiumin. He did not have time to react, as a truck crashed into their bus. Baekhyun saw SeHun get thrown across the bus, and seconds later, he himself felt a sharp pain before his world went black.
