The night before
She hopped from the top of one building to another, landing on one foot and placing another in front of her to stay balanced. It was almost completely dark out, not only from it being late into the night, but the clouds also blocked the moon. But she didn't care, it only made it easier for her to remain unseen. She spun around, throwing a small, black ball at her approaching enemies, then turned back around and continued running. Her steps were quick and quiet, making hardly any sound as she ran in her skin tight, black uniform. Even the slightest bit of sound that came from her was blocked out by the people chasing her, all brandishing sharp weapons of some sort. A throwing knife whizzed past her head, but it missed her by a few inches. A smirk curled onto her lips, but it was unseen, seeing as it was hidden by a cloth that was pulled over the bottom half of her face. Her black cape flew behind her as she leaped from one building to the next once again. The bomb had gone off behind her, surrounding her enemies in a cloud of gas. Once she landed on the building she had previously jumped onto, she watched as her targets collapsed one by one. The gas cleared up, revealing a pile of unconscious men and women, probably around six all together. She raised her arm in front of her face, pressing a button on her wrist watch. A light blue outline of a person appeared from it. "The job's been done. Meet me at the front entrance of the park, and make sure you aren't followed this time." She ordered, pressing the button on her watch once more. The glowing hologram of the figure disappeared, and was replaced by a keypad. She typed a few words, and in less than five minutes, a small, hovering black vehicle flew right beside the building that her attackers were on. She jumped back to the building where they all laid unconscious, moving the people onto her small jet, two at a time. Then, once all of them were on, she jumped in as well and took off.
It took less than ten minutes to reach the park's front entrance, but she finally did, landing by a small figure who stood a good distance away. It would've been too dark to make out any of the features if you were a normal human being. But she was different. Night vision did have it's perks. The jet landed, and the female jumped out and walked over to the figure who faced the opposite direction of her. Blonde hair, wearing a black cloak, it was definitely Brian. "Hey, Brian." She called out to him, only to get no reply. "Brian?" She repeated. No reply. She stepped forward, but brian fell backwards, hitting the ground in front of her. She jumped back, a quiet shriek leaving her lips. There were no visible wounds on him, but she didn't get enough time to get a good look at him before another figure stepped forward. Her eyes widened, at the sight of the figure, and she took a step back, only to fall backwards. The figure stepped towards her again, but instead of attacking, they held out a hand to help her up. It spoke in a cold, raspy voice, "Hello, Rain."

"Eddy? What happened to Eddy?" Kailey asked, her voice raising in concern. "He was arrested last night for destroying city property and attacking an officer. Apparently, many citizens witnessed him in town center, tossing around objects. But the funny thing was that they said he never touched anything, they said he did it with his mind." Mr. Jone replied. Kailey's heart dropped at his words, "Where is he?"
"In the county jail, currently. But don't worry! The police have said that if no one steps up with visual proof of him destroying the city and attacking a cop, he'll be free and back in school by tomorrow!" Mr. Jone's fake smile returned. She could clearly tell he was nervous, and concerned about something. Kailey nodded, "Well, thank you for getting my books back for me. I'll see you later today in class?"
Mr. Jone nodded, "Of course."
With that, Kailey nodded back and walked away.
The day seemed to go by annoyingly slowly. It was only 12:00 PM and Kailey was already starting to think that the day would never end. The lunch room was unusually quiet, but that soon ended. The lights flickered, before completely shutting off, enclosing the room in complete darkness. The students in the dark, windowless room began to panic, a few screaming, and others asking what was happening. But Kailey was silent. Something was wrong. Just then, a light in the corner of the room flickered on, revealing one figure with a black hooded cloak on, wearing a skin tight black uniform and a cloth over their nose and mouth. They pulled the hood over their eyes, then pulled the cloth down so the students could hear them better. "Hello, kiddies! I'm here to announce, that this school is now under our control!"
Kailey was confused for a moment. She only saw one person, why did they say 'our'? Just then, a second figure stepped out from the darkness, wearing a green hoodie. "Eddy?" Kailey whispered to herself. The boy stood next to the hooded figure, his face expressionless. "This is normally the part where I would hold you all hostage until a certain amount of money was handed over to me, but unfortunately, I'm only here for one person. Bring me Kailey!" Said the figure. Kailey's heart dropped for the second time that day. When no one spoke up, the figure huffed, "Fine then. If no one wants to turn in the girl, then maybe we'll have to persuade you!" The person looked over to Edward, and he nodded. His hands raised to his head, and suddenly, a cracking noise was heard from above, the roof above them all was ripped away from the building, lowering to hover only a few feet above the now screaming students.
