The red brick walls and tiled roofs were being slowly ripped apart, tile by tile, brick by brick. The sky was clouded with the dust and debris of the fallen buildings that surrounded the area, and more was to come. And, in the middle of it all, a figure was crouched down, fingers pulling at their own short, curly brown hair. Tears streamed down the figure's cheeks as items such as cars, store signs and newspapers (that hardly anyone ever used) flew around them in a circle. Tree branches were ripped from their trees, and flowers plucked from the ground, joining all the other items in what looked like a dance around the figure. "Help! Somebody!" He cried out, but nobody would cone to his aid. Flower pots were flying away from their balconies, dirt was clouding the air, bricks were tossing themselves at windows. Glass shattered, screams of passerby's were heard, and everyone took cover. Everyone, except the figure in the center of it all. Yet, despite being out in the chaos, he remained unharmed.

As Kailey ran towards her neighborhood, another explosion was heard. But this time, from a different area. Instead of a small explosion in her neighborhood, she heard a louder one coming from the opposite direction. Town Center! She thought, and her min was begging her to go there. The choice was there, right in front of her. She had to choose. As she looked back to get one last peek at her neighborhood, whcih seemed like it was mostly fine after that single explosion, she sighed. Her direction changed, and she raced to Town Center, moving as fast as her legs could carry her. Before she knew it, she was standing behind a building, pulling out a slingshot from her backpack. It wasn't much, but it was all she had as a weapon. Now, she just needed to find a strong person to shift into...

"Hey!"

Her previous thoughts were immediately haulted at the sound of an older male screaming. Kailey grabbed three rocks from the ground before moving to a new position, this time standing in an alleyway on the side of the half demolished building. She risked a peek behind the corner, hoping to see what was happening. An officer from the station not too far down the road from her current position, had a gun in his hand, the weapon pointed at a small boy, who was curled up on the ground with his head in his hands. The boy never replied, or even looked up. He looked familiar...

"Put your hands behind your back!" The officer called out to the brunette, still not getting his attention. Kailey was about to step out, until the boy moved to sit up, tears in his eyes. He tried to pull his hands from his head, but the things that were floating and flying around only moments ago, were now crashing to the ground, one by one. A flower pot was about to crash onto the officers head, and Kailey knew the cop wouldn't look up in time to see it. So she positioned a rock in her slingshot, letting it fly and break the flower pot into to pieces. Each piece flew into opposite directions, falling at the officer's side. The boy quickly put his hands back on his head, falling back to curl up on the ground and let out choked sobs. The officer looked shocked, and almost let down his guard at the sound of the pot breaking and falling to his sides. But he was quick to recover, pointing his gun at the young brunette again and firing at him. The bullet whistled as it flew through the air, only to stop before it even touched the boy's skin. It spun in mid air for a few moments, before it turned, launching itself right back at the officer. Luckily, the older male dodged, but the bullet did graze his arm. He yelped, and that's when Kailey knew it was her cue. She ran over to the officer, dodging flying cars, plants, and signs, until she reached the male she needed. A single touch was all she needed to be able to shift, and that's what she got. "Sir, step back." She demanded, clutching her slingshot as her form began to change. Her height increased greatly, and her muscles began to grow. She could feel herself becoming stronger every second, and that frightened her for only a moment. Then, finally, she was fully shifted. A smirk crawled its way onto her lips once she finally looked the way she had intended. She now looked almost exactly like the officer that had threatened the boy, from the slicked back, black hair, to the police uniform. The only difference was the small slingshot she held in her hand and her eye color. She stepped foward, moving closer to the boy who immediately noticed. "Get away from me! I didn't mean to hurt you, please go away!" He wailed, taking his hands away from his head for a split second, before he realized his mistake. His hands went back to his head right away, catching all falling items and lifting them back into the air. That's when Kailey realized who the boy was. "Eddy..?" She whispered, her tone sounding surprised, not only at seeing her friend in this position, but also at the sudden deepness of her new voice. She almost forgot that she was shifted into someone else's body. Eddy whimpered at the mention of his name, scooting backwards and away from what he saw as the officer that attacked him. After a moment of shock, Kailey quickly shifted back into her normal form, allowing her expression to soften. "It's okay, Eddy, it's just me."

"Kailey..?" He whispered, his eyes widening. Kailey froze in her spot, not wanting to take anymore steps forward and scare the brunette. "Yes, Eddy, it's me! Kailey!" She smiled, taking a small, almost unnoticeable step forward. Eddy was frozen in shock, but only for a moment. She has powers too? Was the only thing Eddy could think at that moment. The emotions that flooded his heart were overwhelming, causing him to pull his hands away from his head. Things began to fall back to the ground, causing more glass to shatter, and dirt to fly everywhere. A car crashed and fell in between Eddy and Kailey, seperating them and causing Kailey to jump back. She looked back up to the sky, watching the things around her crash to the ground, and making sure to dodge those that were above her. When the dust cleared, she hear the officer call out, "Is everyone safe?"

Quiet mumbles of, "As safe as we can be.." left a few people's lips, but her attention was elsewhere. She climbed over the car that previously blocked her and Eddy, only to see that the male in question had disappeared. He'd better be at school tomorrow.. She thought to herself, I have a lot of questions for him..
