Josephine Miller was a small woman, and that was the very first thing Detective Lagalia noticed.
Mainly due to the fact that when she walked in, all that was seen was her dainty silhouette, merely a shadow until she made her appearance in the room apparent.
Unintentionally invisible, even with her badge on her chest and high heels clacking on the floor, no one knew she was there. She seemed to be examining the crime scene, whilst the detective was squatting down to look at the body, deciding not to introduce himself to his partner until she finished with her personal investigation. He gave a hum, examining the brand on Lenny Rue's ankle. A letter A with a devil tail on the left side of it.
A mafia brand.
As it turns out, the subject and goal was to find the mafia leader, aka: the true identity of the killer.
Or rather, the one who gave orders to be killed. He stood for a moment, tossing the information he given over again, until he felt someone tap his shoulder. He stood up, turning over to face the lady.
"..Oh, um. Detective Lagalia, correct?" This was the first time he got a good look at her other than her figure.
She had brown hair that was sort of short, it stopped right above her collarbone, along with bangs that half-covered her eyes.
She adjusted her mahogany-colored, circular glasses that seemed to have a screw loose on the side, making them perpetually crooked, a small tell of the personality that defied her serious and composed look, consisting of a white button up, black blazer and gray pencil skirt that was the slightest bit loose on her.Her shoulders were slouched into a defensive position, and she was twiddling with her thumbs, apparently anxious.
He squinted at the other, raising a brow. "Yep, you've got the right guy. Josephine Miller, right?"
She gave a weak smile, holding out a gloved hand. "Yes. It's a pleasure to meet you, you already seem to know about the partner situation, of course.." She trailed off, rubbing the back of her head.
