A bright sunny day wasted
Standing at a counter
Hours on end
Repeating the same conversations
Hi, how are you?
Both of us uninterested
Bagging fruit and veg
Such a monotonous routine
Wishing I was outside
Enjoying the sunshine
Rush hour arrives
A flock of black and white
Of full time workers
A stampede in the store
Hi, how are you?
Some rude and some awkward
And one by one
The line resides
Leaving me behind
Then it is finally time
6:30pm
The sun no longer shines
Only my headlights
As I leave the store
