Hoped you enjoyed the prologue. Today, I'll be gracing you with another part to the story today!
I'll have to explain that these "" are when the character happens to verbally speaking. Whenever I'm using this '', they're speaking in their personal thoughts.

Drip.
Drip.
Drip.
Drip.
Drip.
That had been the only thing that Boruto could hear during his subconscious state. Of course, the sound of feet connecting with the tiled floor were heard, but they seemed rather far away.
'Where am I?'
No answer would reply to his question.
'Am I dead?'
Again.
No reply.
'God damn it! If I'm dead, I'd like to accept it beforehand!'
The sound of footsteps seem to be closing in on him now.
"I-Is Boruto d-dead?!" Asked a familiar voice.
"No, no, no. Himawari, he's just....eh....is in a coma the correct term for his current state, Shikadai?"
'I'm not dead you idiot!'
"Yes, Lee. Boruto is, indeed, in a coma right now. The pain from his wound must've sent him into shock." Shikadai exclaims.
'I'll applaud you for not becoming completely lazy like your father, Shikadai'
"If he's in a coma......can he hear us?" Lee asked another question.
'Geez, you're exactly like your father when it comes to common sense Lee'
"Again; yes, Lee. Boruto isn't dead. His vitals are all still working correctly; meaning that he's far from the term 'Brain-dead',"
'You're a lifesaver today, Shikadai. Hell, if only I can tell you that verbally'
"WAIT, DOES THE NURSES HELP BORUTO PEE? SINCE, WELL, HE CAN'T BECAUSE OF HIS COMA?!" Chōchō loudly shouts out loud.
'Someone, anyone, please make her be quiet it! I rather have my ear drums when I wake up'
"Chōchō, can't you please lower your voice? We don't wanna be kicked out of the hospital because of you being loud." Inojin politely asks with a smile.
"Okay, okay." Chōchō then digs through her backpack for any snacks she's prepared.
"Boruto just looks so..... defenseless lying down on this bed." Sarada comments.
'Whatcha' expect four eyes? I lost a shit ton of blood on the mission'
Mitsuki ran his fingertips through his hair, biting his inner cheek as he just watched the sleeping male. What could he have done that could've made this situation better? Sure, fighting that asshole of an ex-comrade might've changed the entire landscape of their situation. Boruto wouldn't have been in the hospital like now. The Hokage wouldn't be overly stressed. And, every last one of his friends wouldn't be stricken with worry.
Everyone in the room soon gasped as Chōchō lifted upwards Boruto's hospital gown to peek underneath.
Sarada pounces on top of Chōchō before she could see anything. All the males, including Himawari, were bewildered by Chōchō's actions.
"W-Was she about to look underneath Boruto's gown to see his......" Himawari asked with an flustered face.
"Uh huh." The males said in unison.
After Sarada teaches Chōchō that what she's had been doing isn't exactly correct in any normal sense. Everyone leaves the room because of visiting hours having come to a close. Sarada and Chōchō walked Himawari back home, while the guys all decided to go hangout and try to brighten their current mood.
"I can't believe this has happened to Boruto." Lee said with a heavy sigh.
"You and I both, Lee. He can be a thick skull sometimes but he's usually figuring out impossible methods that aren't even possible under pressure." Mitsuki exclaims.
"You guys are acting as if that's not what we've signed up for when becoming ninjas. Our destiny is to protect those whom are in need. Whether we die or live is up to ourselves and how well we're able to perform underneath additional pressure. Boruto knew about his decisions once meeting up with Kawaki in that abandoned building. He chose to try and handle this alone. In my opinion, he's reckless when it comes to things like these." All eyes were soon locked into Shikadai as he finished up with speaking.
"But, Shikadai, you honestly can't feel as if Boruto deserves this." Inojin asked.
"No, I personally hope his health improves than what it happens to be right now. I'm just thinking about it from a ninjas perspective. We can't be reckless when the stakes of others are on the line. Boruto is much like his father, Lord Seventh, from the stories I've heard from my father. He also has similarities to that of Sarada's father, Sasuke Uchiha. He's the unbalanced mixture of the Seventh and Sasuke. That is what makes him reckless, harmful, and dangerous to have on the field. When you're not thoroughly focused on the primary objective, then you're an ticking time bomb awaiting to explode."
"Wow, I've never thought of it like that Shikadai. I never noticed any similarities between Sasuke and Boruto because of the large similarities to the Seventh that have constantly arose throughout the various years." Inojin replies.
"No one ever does, Inojin. Trust me, I haven't noticed until my father told me his childhood stories about the two comrades that were rivals. We're all 16 years old now, so we can't be oblivious to the hints anymore. You, Inojin act much like your mother with massive hints of your father arising during missions. Lee, everyone should know this already, but is the splitting image of his father. I can't really say anything about Mitsuki since I hadn't met his father before."
The four males all continue conversing between each other, enjoying the beautiful night sky that floated above them. With all this stress about Boruto, one would figure that this stress coats the enjoyable moments like these.
The girls decided to have an sleepover at Himawari's place. Sarada and Chōchō didn't wanna leave the young lady to spend the night alone, worrying about her sibling that had been injured during his mission.
"So, Sarada, do you like any boy yet?" Sarada stares at Chōchō with confusion.
"What do you mean Chōchō? Do you like anyone?"
"Eh, I'm not sure whether Shikadai or Inojin are the correct fit for me as boyfriend material."
"Wait?! You've questioned whether you'd date one of your teammates?"
"Yeah, because their both nice guys but can they handle a girl like me?"
Himawari and Sarada both looked at one another before bursting out in laughter.
"What's so funny?!" Chōchō puffs out her cheeks as her friends continued laughing for a brief moment.
Himawari speaks up, "We're so sorry Chōchō, but we're sure that Inojin can handle you. Shikadai, on the other hand, would be tricky since he likes being lazy like his father sometimes."
Chōchō chucks a pillow towards Himawari quickly. Himawari ducks, letting Sarada being smacked in the face with the pillow. Silence arrives after before a large pillow fight begins between the girls.
Maybe, just maybe, Boruto will wake up to possibly recreate this memory with the rest of his friends.
