~Ron's POV~

I was walking around the broken school looking for Hermione, I shook my head not seeing her anywhere, as I was walking down the hall. I was soon pulled from my search by Professor McGonagall, she rushed to me handing me a letter with sad eyes.

"I'm so sorry Mr. Weasely."

I gave her a confused look.

"What for?"

"Read this, it'll explain everything."

I nodded my head as she walked away, and I went to a quiet corner opening the letter.

Ron,

I'm sorry you had to find out this way, however since you're reading this you must know that I'm gone. Sadly I never got the chance to tell you that while I love you I'm not in love with you. I know that before I was taken from the world you and I shared a moment in the chamber of secrets but that's all it was, a moment. I also know that you're curious as to how this was written if it happened only hours before I was gone, well that's the glory of magic isn't it. You've always been the brother I never got, for that I love you as a brother, I wish that things were different. I wish that I would've been able to tell you this face to face, I'm sorry. I hope that you understand and continue to live your life as if I were with you. I know it's not the same, simply because if I were with you, you'd be asking me to marry you and I'd have to say no. I want you to move on, find a new love, marry her and have your ten kids. That's all that I ask of you for the future, for now though I ask that you keep this letter.

Remember me always Ronald, love you,

Hermione Jean Granger

I wiped the tears from my eyes, the letter back up putting it in my pocket, I stood up letting out a sad sigh before going and looking for more survivors in the rubble. I soon came across Lavender, she was crying holding her neck, I went over to help her heal her wounds before holding my hand out to her. She took it, giving me a small smile and I knew that everything was going to be okay.
