Laura's POV

He's getting married?

Damiano: girls, say something.

I really couldn't take any of that in. I mean.....If he's getting married again, what does that mean?

Does it mean he's lost all hope in finding mom? Is she like.....Never gonna come back.....Is she dead?

I really couldn't. I had to leave the room.

Damiano:....Laura?

..........

I don't understand....You may think I'm being a drama queen. But you probably wouldn't understand.

Mom and I.....We were super close. And then the fact that her leaving may have been my fault. I honestly can never forgive my self for that.

Olly: Laura, open up!

I knew he'd come up here.

Olly: Laura, please open the door. 

I heard his twist the door nob, then he realised that the door wasn't even locked. 

Olly:...why did you leave?

Laura:...Olly, did you not hear what dad just said there?......You wanna tell youre 100% ok with that?

Olly: well, of course I'm not!....But what we do Laura?....It'll make him happy. And I think he deserves to be happy.

He paused.

Olly: he's been miserable for 5 years.

Laura: and so have all of us.

Olly: yeah-- but cmon, Laura!.....I know how you feel. Honestly, I do.

Laura: no you don't.

Olly: yes I do.

Laura: you don't! Cause it's my fault that mom left in the first place.

Olly's POV

Olly: of course she's still thinks that!

We really hate that Laura thinks it's her fault that mom left. And....I know she's really gonna feel bad about it for the rest of her life. Cause mom's not coming back.

Maia: she'll get over it eventually...we all know it's not her fault. And we really shouldn't have said all that shit to her when mom left......we were horrible to her....she felt horrible. And we made it worse.

Olly: you mean you guys made it worst....I stood by her. And made sure my baby sister was okay when you all were being horrible to her.

I honestly can't believe dads getting married. Really...I cannot.

Vanessa: what are we gonna do now?

Olly: the only thing we can do...

The only thing we can do is be happy for dad.

Olly: we have to support this marriage. And the only thing we can do is just be there for dad.  And be happy for him....we have to.

I paused.

Olly: whether you approve of it...we can't do shit about it. So we're gonna have just accept the fact that it's happening.

I said to them all....except Laura. Cause she wasn't in the room.

Olly: and we don't even know her...I bet she's in an amazing woman...and we are letting her in.

They all nodded slowly.

???: amazing woman, or not amazing woman!

I turned around to face a little stubborn coming down the stairs.

Laura: she will never be my mom. And I don't even have to know her, to know that I am NOT accepting her....I'm not letting her in!....not in my life.

Vanessa: Laura, you are going to have to--

Laura: I don't have to do anything!

Laura cut her off slightly chuckling. 

Laura: she's not going to be my mom.

Olly: hey..

We all went to sit next to dad in the kitchen, WITHOUT Laura.

Damiano: so...?

Vanessa: were happy for you, dad....we just want you to know that.

Olly: yeah. We want you to know that we support you all the way.

We smiled, making sadly smile.

Damiano: what about Laura..?

He asked. Making me feel bad, because all dad ever wants is for us to be happy. And here Laura is, being a little brat.

Damiano: I kinda heard what she said....I want her to be happy...and this is gonna make everyone happy.

He paused.

Damiano:..we are gonna start over, fresh. And fix our family....your mother leaving may have....hurt you all in many different ways. And I promise that I will make all your lives not miserable...and you will all be happy, as long as I'm alive.

Dad was kinda tearing.

It's really sad...and I really love him. And appreciate him, and everything he was done for us..but Laura just needs to fix her shit. And get her self together...cause this marriage will happen...I wanna see my father happy.

Maia: we love you, dad.

Abi: yeah. We love you.
