Darkness cast a veil of suffering upon Nosgoth. The world had suffered significant damage when Kain refused the sacrifice those many years ago, and now everyone and everything payed the price for Kain's insolence. Fire fed on towns, wolves fed on corpses, and vampires fed on humans, this was the new natural order of things it seemed. The world prayed for a savior, and it's prayer was answered with the most unlikely of heroes.
Kain sat perched on top of the watch tower of the hall of the sarafan. He knew that his business here would never be finished, but that was the least of his worries now. Kain entered his mist form and breached the bars blocking his entry to the sarafan hall. The vampire snuck around the corridors until he found exactly what he was looking for, the sarafan-made piece to the balance emblem. The emblem had been complete for quite some time, but the sarafan just couldn't help but power those they hated the most without intentionally doing so.
Kain smiled grimly at his newfound prize.
"Where have you been all my life?" He whispered as he snapped the last piece into place.
As he did so the reaver began to illuminate with a hue of black. Kain slowly moved the reaver against the air, and as he did the blade howled with a ghoulish scream."Sarafan technology has always fascinated me."
With that he began to leave the corridor, his job here was done.
"Halt!"
A voice called from behind. Kain grinned as the sarafan soldiers began to take their combative positions against him."You have no business here vampire, now return what you have taken and we will provide you with a fast and painless death." Called the sarafan officer.
"I could do that." Kain said with a calm tone, "or, I could leave a fresh pile of corpses here for your lesser brethren to pick up"
With those words the battle was on. Blades clashed, spears jabbed, and blood flew. The reaver hissed as it scraped ragged flesh from the blood stained bones of it's enemies. The souls of Kain's enemies seemed to only fuel the rage of the reaver, and soon the whole room had grown dark from the illumination of the reaver blade. Kain grit his teeth and braced himself for what was about to be unleashed. In a split second there was a flash of light and the screams of one hundred soldiers, they were now all dead.
"I've seen this happen Kain, and I've seen it happen a million times more than you have."
"Mobius?" Kain said confused as he stared at the reaver.
"Yes Kain, tis I, the one and only time streamer, and guardian of the pillar of time. You know me well, or at least you should, I've fallen to your blade quite the number of times now." The old voice roared
"I see, well in that case you've got some explaining to do old man."
"Hm hm, yes my dear boy, it seems I do."
