JD DONNER
"All in favor in making this year's prom theme a 'Masquerade Ball' please rise," the President stated.
That would be me of course, JD Reed.
Almost all of the student government attendees stood to show their vote for the 'Masquerade Ball' theme idea. Jackpot, I thought.
After counting a total of 23 people, I sighed and rested my hands on my desk. "You may take your seats," I finally said. "I hereby announce that this year's Rosewood High 2017 prom is themed with a 'Masquerade Ball'!"
The room was filled with applauds and smiling faces. "As president of the Rosewood High student government," I started. "I officially call this meeting to an end."
The sound of the applauds growing as I gathered my stuff and made my way out of the classroom pleased me very much. Time to head home.
I walked onto Rosewood's gum splattered pavement, which surprised me to know that it's wet. As I looked up at the sky, tiny droplets of water decided to make their way into my tear ducts. It's raining, I thought.
I started to become frustrated in the situation I'm in; I don't wanna walk home in the rain!
I tread through the parking lot, hoping to see anyone willing to give me a ride home. Suddenly, my eyes landed on a motorcycle. Guess I could stand by it and wait for the owner, right? I briskly walked halfway across the wet parking lot to get to the motorcycle.
After several minutes, a figure made his way out of the school building. I smiled gleefully.
"Hello!" I chirped loudly, hoping he could hear me. There was no response.
"Hello, sir?" I said again--this time being not so confident as before.
The guy looked up, acknowledging me. But still, no response.
Rude?
I think yes.
I go on anyways. "Obviously, it's raining," I started, trailing off with a slight giggle. The guy continued to walk towards his bike, not even acknowledging my existence..
"And I was hoping if you could give me a ride home? I don't really want to walk in the--"
"No." He said, cutting me off.
He made his way around me to retrieve his helmet, puts it on, and is about to get on the motorcycle, when my words stopped him.
"Please?" I plead.
The guy then takes off his helmet and looked at me. He had scraggly dirty blonde hair, almost covering his dark chocolate eyes. His skin was light, and his face expressed nothing but annoyance.
Well dang..
"I know you don't know me," I finally said. "But I'd really appreciate if you just did this simple favor for me."
I was soaked, and the rain was pouring down hard now, making me hope he'd say yes even more than before.
"I'll return it?" I say in a sing-song tone grinning, hoping to get my way.
The boy was still staring at me. After a while, he finally answered.
"No."
He drives off quickly, causing the puddle from where the bike was to explode all over my jeans. Did he really just leave me to walk in the pouring rain, alone?
Well, great.
Cool.
Wow.
I'm soaked, I'm cold, and now I have to walk 10 miles in these conditions.
"My socks are wet!" I mumbled irritatingly, also complaining about everything else wrong in this situation.
Shivering, I began my 10 mile journey on the sidewalk that exited Rosewood High.
***
Yeah, this chapter was short. Sorry about that!
I'll be making longer ones soon though. (:
