Prologue

''You seek love, from me?" I laughed bitterly, shaking my head, ''Why? Because you feel the fucking sparks? You can only take in my scent? Newsflash sweet cheeks, I don't feel a fucking thing--nothing.''

She clenched her jaw, doing something I didn't know she had the audacity to.

Yeah, she punched me straight on the face--breaking my glasses in two.

''What the fuck? I can't see shit without that!"

"Good.'' She spat, shoving me on the chest, ''you're too blind to see if anybody cares about you anyway--I tried and tried to get you to understand how much I care about you, yet--''

''How many times I told you it's useless? Huh? How many? I feel nothing, what is it that you don't understand? Nothing. I feel nothing for every girls sauntering up, claiming to be my mate--including you.''

She glared--or so I thought, I could barely see without my glasses, and slapped me, before seething, her breathing heavy with anger.

''If that's how you feel, reject me, I dare you.'' She yanked my collar as a choked sob escaped her lips, ''reject me you fucking coward!''

I pried her hands away, ''as much as I say that I don't feel anything for you, I've gone through the pain of rejection--and I'm not gonna let you go through it. Nobody deserves to have their soul mate taken away from them.''

She laughed bitterly, ''you said that nobody deserves to have their soul mate taken away,'' another choked sob escaped her lips, ''but you, you take yourself away from me!"

''That's because I'm not your mate!" I roared, ''I'm nobody's mate--I can't have a fucking mate, it's just the way I was born!"

"You can't have a mate? That's what you want to believe? Then I certainly hope that is what will happen to you.''

She shoved me hard towards the wall and ran away--her sobs no longer choked, but more, way more heart wrenching.

This one did go with a bang.
