Maya dragged her long Samuri sword behind her.
"You can't just attack the Malitia like that, they'll kill you!" Miles called from behind her. She whipped her head around.
"Peter was the only one who trusted me after I walked starving, and injured for 400 miles, you think I'm going to leave him to die to the hands of some god for saken general huh?" She said through clenched teeth, her sword pressed to Miles's neck.
Charlie placed a hand on Maya's shoulder, and pulled her away from Miles. "If you're going to do this, then we're going to help."
"What makes you think we need your help?" Michael said, entering the short hallway the five of them stood in.
Maya let her sword drop. "Michael, I can't get Peter alone. But you have to stay here and watch the little ones okay?" Michael nodded slightly.
He turned and walked away.
"If you're helping me, we move now." Maya said turning back to the group. They walked out of the torn up building, and into the surrounding woods. Maya lead them to the place where Peter had dissapeared, and they tracked him to a soldier training facility. They divised a plan. Maya and Charlie would sneak in, get Peter, and get out. Simple as that.
Maya and Charlie snuck out near the sounds of wagons. They sat down around a makeshift fire pit, and set their stuff aside. Soon enough Malitia soldiers came across their little camp.
"What are two young girls like you doing alone in the woods?" Maya put on her best I'm just an inocent little girl look she could muster and looked up at the soldier that had asked her the question.
"We're not alone. Our brothers are just hunting. With our dad." Charlie said.
"And they left you by yourselves?"
"Mhm."
"I don't think so." The soldier grabbed both girls, and shoved them into their wagon. It took every ounce of restraint she had not to kill both of them. They took the girls back to the school, and had them change into uniforms. After being escorted to the great hall, they were lined up.
A little episode happened with one of the boys, and they shot him.
"You." The lead soldier said. He pointed at Maya.
"Yes sir?" Maya said, aburptly.
"Why did you do that to you hair?" He asked her. Maya has long brown hair, cascading down to her shoulders on one side, but on the other it was shaved. She did it every month.
"May I speak freely sir?"
"You may."
"I had a younger sister, who passed, got an infected cut, and I shave my hair to represent her, and what I tried to do to protect her."
"Well isn't that sweet? But you will have to let it grow now you understand?" The soldier ordered.
"Yes sir!"
Maya fell back into the line, and walked to the dorms. Charlie purposly bumped into the large boy behind her. She skoffed with him a bit, before he knocked her out cold. Maya smiled just a little bit. Not enough for anyone to notice. Now it was her turn to fill out her job. Now she had to find Peter, and get him out.
