Natsu had been pushed through the doors of his next class by many students. They eyes watching him bore into him and gave him slight chaos in his state of mind. He didn't know if he should wait for a teacher to give him a seat or just sit down in a random seat.

This was why he needed a guide.

"You can sit next to me, it's the only seat left!" A voice called out to him.

He felt like someone from above had read his mind and gave him a chance not to mess up at. He looked for the source of the voice, awkwardly catching onto familiar brown jewels.

"Are you sure? I don't think you want my pink mop of hair near you!" He laughed.

Natsu could hear some gasps in the background at his statement. He was unique for his natural born pink hair but that was also something given to him by chance.

"It's salmon coloured, isn't it? And I don't mind, my bright hair is a headache as well." The girl laughed. Her voice flowed naturally, not like his other fans. He could tell from the vibe the blonde had given off was that she was also a fan of his.

But what made her act so different about it?

"My name is Lucy Heartfilia, you're going to be seeing a lot of me during the next year or so." She winced at him. It was playful yet full of confident shyness. It was confusing but he loved the feeling that was running through his body already.

He balanced his bag at the side of his chair and took out a blue inky pen from his inside pocket. "What do you know? You're already a natural at being a student already!" Lucy laughed at his pen. He looked around, noticing that other students had similar pens.

He joined in on the laughter that felt like home.

"You better get used to hearing people asking for inky pens, especially considering who you are. A pen from the great Natsu Dragneel would costs thousands here in Magnolia." Lucy let out a little giggle. It didn't sound like a threat or that she would do it either.

Just a simple warning.

He checked the time on his watch noticing that the teacher would come in at any moment if he wasn't careful. Either he only spoke to this girl during school hours or also outside as well. But that depended on if he could mustur up the courage to ask.

He bit his lips as he stared at his fingers, hearing her talking about God knows what. He knew it wa rude not to listen and karma would bite back at him if he didn't by asking him a question on the subject.

"Can I have your number?" He asked suddenly. His voice was low enough so only Lucy could hear what he had said.

"You really know how to surprise a girl, don't you?" She laughed as he ripped out a small scrap of paper from her notebook. She had a black biro in her hand and smiled a he wrote down some digits. She struggled to pick up the paper but eventually gave it to him.

The teacher walked in and he stuffed it in one of his inside pockets, hoping he wouldn't forget it was there. The teacher looked dazed and still half a sleep. "That's our head of year, Gildarts. He teaches Geography because he took the time to 'search the world for 4 years' and he wanted to share his experience. He also covers for P.E." Lucy explained.

"You can also sit next to me during lunch. I'll introduce you to other people that won't trample on you."

She was like a saviour to him in a weird way. Someone who knew what he wanted before he knew what he wanted. Someone he knew he'd be safe with.
