"What?! Why are you breaking up with me? I thought we had something special, me and you against the world. You know, the whole romance package," said Heather. Her boyfriend just stared at her breast not making any eye contact. She moved away from him and got off his bed. She covered herself with his robe then she turned at his voice, "I never really liked you anyways. You are so pathetic I mean who in their right mind would even look upon you. Truly from the bottom of my heart, Heather, you disgust me."
Kobe woke up from his nap in the chair next to the door then quickly walked over to Heather's hospital bed. She was awake.
"Heather? How are you feeling?" he asked silently. She was still too weak to speak but instead she nodded. He sighed, letting out tons of relief, and he smiled faintly. "You had me so scared there," he said, "You've been out for a good two days. Scariest two days of my life."
Her smile was still so beautiful, even if it was barely half a smile. He stroked her cheeks and smile then left the room. Heather closed her eyes, whispering, "I love you."
The school was full of whispering students and gossiping teachers. As he strolled through the halls, student's eyes followed him. Soon, the wicked witch of Vineyard High stepped in front of his walk way, "So now you're her best friend? Heather and you are hitting it off?"
"No."
"Then where were you, Kobe?"
"I was out. And it's none of your concern." He snapped back. Patricia eyes grew wide then she flipped her hair and walked past him, along with her flock of cheerleaders. Patricia needs to back off of Heather just for a day. She's stuck up on her like a drug! Even when the girl's in the hospital she's still running her big trap.
She crossed her arms, flipping her naturally curly blonde hair, "Yeah, well, it's whatever. I'm not gonna waste anymore time with you. Toodles!" Patricia told him then walked away with her followers. You'd never see her without them posing by her side. They're like roaches feeding on a week old bowl of spaghetti. Kobe turned around and then BOOM! He collides into some girl carrying a ton of books and papers. She falls to the hard floor while Kobe stands as still as a rock. The books fall in slow motion onto the girl like an avalanche. Once everything's calm he finally decides to help her. The girl pushed some books off of her and grabbed her hand to help her up.
"Oh thank you! Not many people that are willing to help out a fellow comrade." She spoke first, dusting off her shirt and skirt and fixing her tilted glasses. He nodded, "Not many people carry a mountain of books into a chaotic hallway." To enlighten her mood he used his sense of sarcasm to bring a smile upon her face. And it worked.
She smiled then looked at the pile then the smile faded. "Looks like the books aren't going to pick themselves up."
"Yeah I better help too." They picked up all the books then they stood awkwardly in front of each other. The girl brought out her hand while trying to balance the books on one hand. "I'm Georgia." She said. Kobe grabbed her hand gently then told her his name. They agreed to hang out sometime then they went their separate ways.

"How are you feeling?" A woman at Heather's room door asked politely. Heather turned her head at the voice she sat up, "Mom?" The woman shedded a tear then threw her purse on a chair near the door. "Heather. My sweet, sweet child." She walked towards Heather trying to hug her but she stopped when Heather's arm rose.
"Don't come near me. You think just because you stepped in here, in my room, in my life again I will immediately move on from what happened. I couldn't be more disgusted." Heather snapped then looked at a window on the other side of the room. Window no longer became transparent but translucent because of the moisture in the air outside. Heather's mother began at a soft tone while reaching to touch Heather's shoulder, "I know I messed up. But the only reason I'm here is because I heard that something happened." "And that made you come why? Oh, because you're concerned about me? Huh?" She snapped again.
Her mother got to touch her for a couple of seconds before she yanked her shoulder away. Heather's mom walked towards the door and closed out then sat down where she threw her purse. Still she was crying. Heather began to break into silent tears too. Heather looked at her Mom who was too busy crying tears that dropped to the floor then at her shaking hands. She lifted her head at at the ceiling, examining the emptiness it preserved. Just blank. "Do you regret what you did?" Heather began. Her mother looked up at her then tried getting up, "Don't. Get up. Just answer the question. Do you regret what you did?"
"Everyday I do."
"Uh huh," Her face turned towards her mother. "I bet you do."
