Logan sighed softly as he walked through the front door, raking a hand through his dark hair as he closed and locked the door behind him. It was around 5:30 AM when he finally got home from the hospital, per Jacob's request that he go home and get some sleep. He trudged his way up the stairs and made his way to his sister's bedroom, wanting to peak in and check on her. He pushed open the already cracked door, his eyebrows shooting up in surprise at the sight in front of him.
Isaac was laying in the bed behind his sister, spooning her against his chest as he held her hand tight, their fingers intertwined. His head was pressed into the crook of her neck as the duo slept, breathing steadily against her skin.
Sam was snuggled up against him, their intertwined hands held tightly to her chest as she pillowed her head under her other hand. She had a small smile on her face as she slept, her nose gently brushing against their hands every so often.
Logan couldn't help but smile, moving towards the bed and pulling the duvet further over the two of them before pecking his sister's forehead, and leaving without a word.
Hours later, Sam woke up, still entangled in Isaac's arms. She glanced over at her clock, looking at the time which read 9:00 AM in big bright red letters. Thank God it was Saturday, otherwise she would have been in trouble for not setting her alarm.
She yawned, giving Isaac's hand a squeeze as she snuggled back down against him, her eyes fluttering to a close. She felt the blonde boy stir behind her and she rolled over so she was facing him, rubbing her hand gently up and down his side.
Isaac hummed as he cracked his eyes open, the bright blue hues boring into her dark hazel ones. He smiled brightly at her. "Good morning," He whispered.
Sam smiled, bringing her hand up to cup his cheek, to which he leaned into. "Morning, Lahey." She whispered, brushing her thumb over his cheekbone tenderly. "Sleep well?"
Isaac hummed, closing his eyes and letting his forehead fall against hers. "With you here, yeah. It really helped."
Sam tilted her head, her brow furrowing. "Helped?"
Isaac nodded, a small blush coming onto his face. "I uh, I have nightmares. And you being here helped a lot."
Sam smiled gently, pressing a kiss to his nose. "Don't be embarssed. It's okay." She said, moving her hands to gently rub his back.
Isaac sighed softly in content, his nose gently bumping against hers. "So, should we tell your brother? About the move I mean?"
"He's probably still sleeping. I think he came home pretty early last night." Sam answered, rubbing her tired eyes a bit.
"Mm. Let's go back to sleep, then." Isaac hummed, closing his eyes and wrapping his arms tighter around her waist.
Sam chuckled softly before her eyes went wide for two reasons.
One, the fact that she was lying in bed with Isaac freaking Lahey was finally kicking in -not that she minded of course.
And two; today was day 10, and she didn't have a reason.
She wrapped herself tighter around Isaac, pulling him close and pressing her face further into his shirt.
"Hey, you okay?" Isaac asked softly, his brow furrowing.
"It's the last day." Sam whispered, gripping his shirt as he smoothed his hand gently over her messy dark locks.
"The last day?" He whispered in confusion. "What are you talking about?"
"It's day 10, Isaac."
Isaac felt his heart jump and his face melted into understanding, chuckling lightly as he pressed his face against her shoulder. "Sam-"
"I don't have one," Sam said, gripping him tighter against her as if he would suddenly spring from the bed and rush to her medicine cabinet. "I don't have a reason for today. Oh my God, I literally came this far and I don't have one. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, don't leave, please-"
"Samantha," Isaac said firmly, sitting them both up and pulling back so he could grip her shoulders. "It's okay that you don't have one because I do."
Sam blinked. "I - what?"
Isaac smiled brightly, moving his hand to cup of cheek into his palm. "Reason ten," He said, rubbing his thumb over her cheekbone tenderly. "You."
Sam's hazel eyes widened and her lips parted in surprise, her hand slowly reaching up to touch his wrist. "Me?"
"You. Sam, if it weren't for you, if it weren't for everything you've done to help me, I would have downed those pills."
Sam squeezed her eyes shut, squeezing his hand tight. "But you didn't." She said, more to herself than to him.
"But I didn't," Isaac repeated, resting his forehead gently on hers. "Because of you. I love you, Sam. You're my reason. I'm staying for you."
Sam felt the tears well into her eyes and she quickly threw her arms around his neck, slamming her lips onto his.
Isaac wrapped his arms around her waist tightly, falling back onto the bed so she was on top of his chest, causing her to giggle softly.
Sam pulled away, looking into his icy blue eyes. "I love you. I love you, Lahey."
Isaac smiled. "I love you, Fletcher."
