Chapter 9: Attack

Everything is fine lately. Clarissa finally stopped thinking I was Rivia, but at times she'd look at me with pain. I think she might have it worked out why Rivia left since she knew I wasn't human. I wonder how long it will take Zae to figure it out.

I lifted the spell the other day it was taking too much out of me to maintain it. The first few days they looked at me in confusion probably wondering what's going on. They let it go fairly quick. Now that everyone knows I'm pregnant they except the fact that I won't shift. They also seem to want to protect me more.

"Vieniea you sure are glowing," Clarissa smiled at me.

"Yes I really love my little baby," I smiled back my face alive with joy.

"So when are you going to tell him he's going to be a father?" she asked me.

"Tell who?" I asked confused.

"Zae of course. It didn't make sense at first, but after I heard all the rumors my suspicions are confirmed. My son is your mate isn't he?" she smirked.

"Zae can't be the father or my mate," I laughed.

"Why not?" she asked me.

"Look Clarissa I'm 3 1/2 months along. I've been here for 3 months. A GoddessMoonMage who has met her mate, but they haven't mated can only become pregnant if they are in the same area," I told her kindly.

"Oh," she frowned.

I knew she was disappointed. Zae hadn't left Seshore pack lands for 6 months so to her it was impossible. The thing that had me going was that only my mate could get me pregnant although I'm a virgin, but I'd been no where near Zae when I became pregnant.

"Are you alright sweetheart?" she asked kindly.

"Sorry I was off in dream land," I said sadly.

Clarissa pulled me in a hug. I think she can sense the pain I'm in. She lost Zae's father last year due to a rogue attack. He would have survived, but the doctor had betrayed the pack. When the Alpha was injured she injected him with fire blossoms instead of wolves bane. Wolves bane contrary to belief heals us what kills us is fire blossoms.

So just before he died he had to transfer his power to Zae or the pack wouldn't have had a leader, which is also how I became an Alpha when I was 5. Only someone with Alpha genes can rule a pack which is why the parents have to prepare the child for the responsibility. Other wise a whole pack can become rogues or worse they'd somehow turn human when losing their Alpha.

Then suddenly a horn sounded through out the pack lands. Followed by another and another which could only mean one thing. We were under attack, and it was warning all of the pregnant females and children to hide. I got up to go and join the fighting, but Clarissa grabbed my arm.

"What are you doing?! You go with the rest of the pregnant women and children to protect them," she told me pushing me towards the main pack house.

I reluctantly went, but it made sense. This way a fighter wouldn't have to be spared and they'd be safer with me protecting them since I'm a GoddessMoonMage as well as an Alpha. On my way I made sure to grab all the children under 14 and pull them with me, or the older ones who hadn't shifted yet. I also had to make sure the injured from our infirmary got down into the basement beneath the basement.

So I used my powers to transport the injured to the second basement. I then made sure to have a doctor on hand in case one of the women went into labor.

"Ok everyone," I said once we were all gathered. "We don't know who our attackers are, but we do know the rest of the pack as well as your mates are protecting us."
