The tape recorder shut off as I leaned back against my cold, metal bed leg, maybe having this weird soul mate thing wasn't really so bad! I mean it could come in real handy when I'm feeling upset or lonely.

A groan escaped my lips as footsteps in the hallway shuffled closer to my bedroom door.

The door slowly crept open as I watched my sister slipped into my room with a wide smile.

"Hi bro bro!" her voice sang through my ears like a sweet melody as she bounced into my room. I replied to her with a small wave as I felt her warm arms wrap around my neck and  I couldn't help but smile.

"Hey Sammy, what's up?" I spoke as I chuckled softly, I felt a strand of her dark, curly hair tickling my forehead.

"Oh nothing I was just checking up on you, and mom wanted me to tell you that dinner was ready." She ruffled my hair and moved away, heading to the door.

"Alright thanks sis, I'll be down in a little.." my mind started to wander off to what mother had made this time, she wasn't the best chef in the world but you could always tell by her smile that whatever it was came straight from the heart. The door then closed as I jumped up and scrambled to my feet, grabbing a sweatshirt and slipping it on,  covering the message on my arm.

"I thought she saw.." I groaned as I realized this was going to be a lot harder than I first though. Sighing I plopped down onto my bed and squinted up to my cracked ceiling.

'Maybe just a quick hello wouldn't hurt...' I thought to myself and shook my head chuckling. There was no way I could actually build up the courage to do that, could I?

I bit my bottom lip, the feeling of curiosity sweeping over me as I slowly got up out of my creaking bed and made my way to my old wooden desk in the corner of my room.  Searching for a pen I spotted a dark red marker and picked it up, popping off the cap and pulling up my sleeve. Taking a deep breath I placed the marker to my skin and wrote,

'Hello.'
