They have been dating for 3 years now. He knew it was time to propose. He needed to do it on a special day, so he decided on the winter solstice, because his hair was like snow, and hers like ice.
He asked her on a date, and she accepted, so they got in the car and he put a blindfold on her, "It's a surprise." He told her.
She thought that he may propose, but she wasn't sure when.
They arrive at the destination, and he takes her blindfold off, and she smiles in delight. They walk over to the picnic blanket that's on the dock of the lake and sit down.
They talk for a while before he stands up and pulls out a ukulele and starts singing.

She was crying tears of joy and smiling. She nodded, "Yes, I will marry you."
They went up to each other and kissed. He put the silver ring with blue diamonds on her finger and they laid down on the blanket cuddling with each other and watching the stars.
A shooting star went by. "Make a wish," he said. She shook her head. "No, my wish already came true."
