PART 2

Monday 11am:

Back on campus, dreading seeing creepy Michael, or ANYONE from my non-optional Global Econ. Class. Death to whoever decided universities could even run on a non-anonymous non-correspondence format.

No sign of life from David’s apartment this  morning.

Incredibly tired due to internet stalking activity last night, spent rest of money on itunes due to boredom. However I am now proud owner of (among other rash purchases) Justin Beiber EP’s “Confident” and “All that matters to me”. Will only brag to you diary, feel judgement forthcoming from anyone else.

About to meet Ayisha for frappe.

11:15am:

Ayisha’s still not here.  While checking my reflection in snapchat, accidentally took hideous photo of self and sent it to three people.

Quick backstory on Ayisha:

-Best friend

-2nd year like me, studying Engineering not commerce

-Pakistani, born and raised in NZ, parents immigrated in 1991

-ridiculously pretty and clever, basically princess Jasmine with Ivy league potential

-also very sarcastic and mean to everyone except me

Have just realized Ayisha is actually rather sadistic to everyone else. Rather like the feeling of knowing that beyond being part of an elite few, I am in fact the chosen one. As if I am Ayisha’s secret operative spy or something… Or as if I am her only friend a la Serena and Blair on season one of gossip girl. AKA the best season. She must be Blair and I must be Serena. Except a dumpy version, more akin to Princess Mia on Princess Diaries pre makeover, or young version of ancient Bridget Jones.

Must decide who I am in world of fiction / which famous person would play me in movie of my life. Jennifer Lawrence would probably be one of my top choices, as she is both strong and beautiful but also funny and relatable. Feel like compiling a list once on lap top later.

11:20am:

Still not here. People beginning to judge me sitting at table by myself and not ordering. Sense intense jealousy from those waiting for a table. They need to learn that not all of us walk in packs, and some of us are lone wolves, whom occasionally get coffee with other lone wolves. Wolf must be my spirit animal… Must stop getting distracted and think of more movie stars.

Writing in you diary so I look busy and important and like my phones blowing up due to popularity.

AH YUSS! SHE’S HERE!

“J, why are all of these losers staring at us?” she asked briskly, priceless Lulu Guinness bag swinging, dumping her coat and iPad onto the table as she sat. “It’s like they’ve never seen an interracial friendship before.” Her voice got embarrassingly loud, “IT’S NOT THE 1920’s PRUDES. Jesus. Anyway,” Suddenly switches to calm voice, “Have you ordered our frappes?” As I shook my head no, she raised her right hand in the air and clicks whilst checking her phone with left, until a harassed looking staff member rushes over.

“Uh Miss you put an order in at the c-c-counter.” He stutters, mesmerized by her catlike brown eyes.

I watch in awe as Ayisha leans in, her rack (quite impressive considering she’s very short and petite) resting on the marble table top,  sweetly smiling at him, maintaining eye contact. Her eyes were big and vulnerable looking, and he was no match.

She middle eastern Angelina Jolie.

“Listen’ she checked his name badge, “Barry,” She pulls out a $50 note from her purse, “Make us an exception ok?” Her voice purrs with feminine charm, “We’re just coming back from an incredibly horrible event. My friend here,” Both sets of eyes, Ayisha’s now impatient and Barry’s dazed, turn to me, “Has just been dumped by her ex-tutor, after he made her have sex with him and then failed her anyway. Barry, please go and make us two caramel frappuccinos, with two slices of double chocolate fudge brownie, vanilla icecream on the side.” Barry, staring at me in horror, shuffled backwards towards the register mouth hanging open.
