Can't Let Go

"It's not what you think of Lau, I can explain..." Adele said as she pulled Laura with her downstairs.

"For 3 long years Adele? Goodness gracious! What have you gotten yourself into?!" Her bestfriend began to scold her like an angry mother to her child.

After they made it to the couch, Adele's head instantly fell on her both hands that was leaning on her knees. She desperately sobbed as she realized how big the mess she had made.

Laura, the soft-hearted one, felt guilty for judging Adele as easy and fast as that without giving her the chance to explain or even defend herself.

"Hey babe... I'm sorry... You know I'm just concern about you and Angelo right?" She wrapped her right arm around Adele's juddering shoulder.

"Laura... I'm really sorry..." Adele finally uncovered her red face and fell onto Laura's chest.

"Shh, you don't have to be sorry to me Del..." With her spare hand, she soothed down Adele's hair as she heard small snots from her bestfriend.

"...but Simon needs to know about-" Laura was kinda shocked of Adele's sudden act.

"No! I don't want him to be involved in my son's life!" She bitterly said.

After all these years, Adele still wasn't able to move on with what Simon has done to her. She couldn't accept the fact that even though she cried an ocean for Simon, his ship still refuses to sail. Adele couldn't fathom how Simon became so insensitive to think how she can't live without him.

"Adele, we both know how much you needed Simon up until now." 

"I've got Rome now. He's what all I need..." 

"You can fool everyone around you Adele even yourself but you cannot cheat this..." Laura said as she placed her finger against Adele's left part of her chest.

"If Simon does really loves me, he would come back to find me Lau or he won't even leave me on the first place..." Adele convinced herself that Simon and she are really not meant for each other. She forced herself to stop from hoping that he would come back to her.

"Maybe he misunderstood all of your signals that wasn't sent..."

"...if you really don't want to lose Simon, you would have had told him what's inside that pretty mind of yours Adele. How can he chase you if you don't want to be caught?" Adele by this moment was hit close to the bone by Laura's wordings. But why is she hurt? It's as if it was her fault for letting Simon slip out from her own hands.

Because the truth always hurts. She unconsciously pushed him away and took his love for granted. Simon was ready to stand by her side but she refused, she fed her ego.

"I don't know Lau... Maybe some people are meant to fall in love with each other, but not meant to be together..." Adele said as she calmed herself down, wiping all those familiar tears again.

"But sometimes two people need to fall apart for them to realize how much they need to fall back together again... Don't stop yourself for loving him Del, just let the fate decide." Laura grabbed her hands and gave it a little warm squeeze, telling her that she will support her decisions no matter what.

"I'm not yet ready Lau... This is going to be a big mess..." Adele sighed, starring blankly at the shiny tiled floor. 

"Everyone commits mistakes, life doesn't come with instructions babe. You just gotta learn from it."

"Thank you Lau, you are really the best..." Adele said engulfing Laura into her arms.

"I just need you to do a favor donut, for hiding this crazy secret to me."

"Yeah?" She replied cautiously.

"Tell Simon about Angelo. it's their right to know the truth."
