{Chapter 1}

"Can I just tell you right now," Aden said in my ear, "I'm going to get laid, now matter what it takes." He wrapped his arm around my neck, almost knocking me into the snow.

"You are really desperate to have sex dude." I say with an emotionless tone.

"I mean, dude, Darren has been talking me up this whole time." He shows me his phone and he scrolls through the messages and points out the sentence 'can't wait to see you'.

I look at him. "He could be playing you."

"But he couldn't?"

"I guess we'll have to see." I say. I get closer to him. "You might have some competition." I say, pointing at Logan in front of us.

"Him too?"

"Yep."

"Oh, I thought he had a girlfriend?" Aden said.

"I guess he doesn't care."

Logan looks back with a smirk. "You know, it would work if Aden was dumb."

I was confused for a second then I caught on to what he was talking about. Aden picked up a handful of snow and threw it at me.

"Oh you did not just do that."

"And if I did?" Aden picked up another handful of snow.

"Throw another snowball and I will literally kill you."

It wasn't even five seconds until I was hit with another snowball. It wasn't from Aden, it was from Laura. "What now?" Logan was also holding snow in his gloves.

"Oh, 'what now'?" I quickly bent down to get some snow and everyone dispersed into the trees. I follow Laura.

She hides behind a tree. I creep up to it slowly, praying that the snow doesn't crunch under my feet. When I finally got to the tree, I took a deep breath. I turned with a big exasperation in my voice, trying to surprise her, but she wasn't there.

"Ha!" Laura exclaimed, slamming snow onto my head. The snow went down my coat into my clothes and I began to shiver.

I turn to her with chattering teeth. "You must really hate me."

"Sometimes." she said and laugh.

Her laugh was interrupted by a yell. A deep voice that sounded familiar. "GUYS GET OVER HERE!"

Aden.

Laura and I trekked in the direction of Aden's voice. When we saw him, all we could see was the back of his red coat. "What's wrong?" Laura asked.

"Look."

He pointed at the ground. "Holy shit." Blood was splattered all over the snowy ground, leading to something large and brown. Laura walked forward.

"Whoa." Logan said.

Laura stood over the thing the blood trail lead to, a deer. "Where's its head?" she asked.

I don't know what made me do it, but I looked up and there it was. A branch sticking out through the deer's. Blood still trickling from the neck down the tree. "That's nasty." I said.

Everyone looked up at the tree. "Whoever likes hunting, must really want to be recognized." Aden said.

"We should go." Logan said. "I'm freezing my ass off."

"Yeah." Laura agreed. She moved but stopped again. "Wait."

She bent down and held something in her hand. "What is that?" Aden asked. We all went to her. She stood there, frozen. "Its a totem." I said. "Antiques."
