I found my eyes to lead me towards a small turtle gently placed on the ground. It was obviously fake and you could tell just by the shine the light casted on it. Why it was there? I don't know. To be honest I've never seen such a thing.
I soon noticed the turtle wasn't the only new thing there. A bright blue ball sat next to the plastic turtle.
I decided the mistress must have put it there as a gift. It was rather unlikely that was the case as we almost never get anything new besides clothes but I wouldn't dare question it any longer.
I grabbed the two toys in my hand. Something was off about it's shape. The shell had a slightly lower square in the middle. I brought my thumb and index finger towards it brushing lightly against the brown plastic shell. It was so smooth and very delightful feeling. I pushed down lightly where the strange place was. the turtle cracked open with a single try.
I stared at it wide-eyed. How peculiar! My eyes were cought by a piece of paper stuck in the hollow shell. I stuck my pinky into the crack. The broken plastic dug into my skin but I wouldn't stop only because of such a small thing. With my tiniest finger I twirled what I assumed was a note through the crack.
It was just my luck! A note! The words were written so neatly, so beautifully. The words written on it surprised me "congratulations! You found my lucky turtle! In order to keep the tradition please send this to someone important or simply amazing."
I wondered who sent this to me. Maybe it was a family who wanted to make someone who may be gloomy, nice and happy again.
Even the little things count as something important.
The strange thing to this all was that it was all in my imagination. Nothing like this had ever happened only I wish it did.
Instead I sat on my bed unaware of my surroundings as I sank into dreamland. Day dreamland. Luckily I snapped out of it. If I hadn't I might have missed a call for dinner again or a brilliant idea of one of my sisters. Instead of that I broke out of daydreaming by Petal.
"Are you ok?" She questioned me with her motherly expression.
"Yup." I said plainly. The word just slipped out of my mouth. I didn't even need to think in order to reply.
"Are yo-" her voice was cut off by what I believed was the one of my mistress.
"Dinnertime!" Her voice rang.
I jumped off my bed onto the floor.
"We better get going" Adrian practically whispered.
She was right of course so we slipped towards the dinning room. I sat down at my regular chair. I wasn't surprised at what we had for our meal, soup. We get it so often since it's cheap but I always wished we could try something new.
The table was set so neatly it actually surprised me.
I opened my jaw to speak but before any noise could escape Flare piped up
"Is it a special occasion?" She wondered crossly.
"Yes it is." Our mistress responded. "The inspector will be coming, make sure to clean your rooms up, not to mention yourselves. Flare, Adrian, Petal and Aqua!" She rose her voice as she mentioned us.
"Sorry miss, it was messy day" Petal swiftly responded.
