The Changers - Horse

Chapter 3

I smile as Eric stands there stabbing and slashing the air, I slowly draw my sword and leap, I catch him buy surprise and send him into a parry for his head. I smile and he smirks back and pushes me back and then we are both standing there on the snow, with swords. He comes at me and goes to attack my right side but I swiftly hit his blade and spin away, then I attack to his head but he parries and gets away. He attacks, fast strait at me but I just step aside and knock his blade, we continue attacking and blocking until we stand again on the snow and Eric attacks my left and our swords clash, I push against his blade and he pushes back but is flick my blade and his goes flying, but then he rushes at me and bear tackles me to the ground. I can't help but laugh I drop my sword ready for a wrestling match but Eric has rolled away, about two yards away, but he's not moving he lays on his stomach and tries to get up but falls again. Without hesitation I jump up and rush over to him,

"Eric, Eric are you ok?" I ask franticly and fall to my knees next to him, he makes a noise, wait is he laughing? I roll him over and he is laughing.

"Eric how could you??" I ask as I hit him, I am angry now and he could tell, "I thought you were hurt!!" but before I could hit him another time he grabs me and we roll down a hill. At the bottom he lands on top of me. We just lay there and I look into his eyes and its hard not to be angry,

"Thea, there's something I have always wanted to tell you" He says lowering his face closer to mine, "I love you" but before I could say anything or even really register what he just said, he presses his lips onto mine, but it takes me a second to register that he is kissing me, I am shocked, but I cant think about that now, all I can think about is how soft his lips are, I never want this moment to end. But Eric pulls away and sits up and I follow suit, we both just look at each other and I am just blushing to no end.

"I love you too" I manage to say and he smiles and stands up, then helps me up we walk back up the hill and retrieve our swords and we whistle to Amour and Cannon and they come trotting over, we get on and Eric smiles at me,

"Where to next?" But I barely hear him, I am looking at the smoke rising from where the house and the barn should be. I gallop that way and Eric follows me, it doesn't take long to reach the barn, or what's left of the barn, some blackened pieces of wood and ash, I turn to Eric and he just shakes his head, we walk over to the charred remains of my house and I jump off Amour, and walk through the nonexistent door, up the crumbling stairs and to my room, for the most part its generally untouched, so I grab a bag stuff my semi fancy dress and my other work dress in it along with a few other possessions and walk back out Eric is still on Cannon so I climb back on Amour,

"Who did this?" he asked

"Fendrel Terrowin" I say, my words dripping with anger and hatred, and we gallop off to the next town.
