When I was younger, I had always liked animals... any sorts of them. Even bugs...especially bugs. I found them fascinating and wonderful. Maybe this was because my mom was a zoologist or because we owned a lot of pets, but I can't be sure. We owned a dog named Tucker, a cat Buddy and a parakeet named LuLu. Yes, when I say a lot of pets, I mean A LOT. I had no siblings but I got over my loneliness because we would have family nights and I went to the park and hung out with my friends. I didn't even have that many friends, but the ones that I did have were really nice to me and I loved them. I actually got my cat from them for a birthday present once. It was a wonderful gift and I loved him to death but my REAL interest was in bugs. Any type. I loved the fuzzy ones, the spiky ones, the camouflaged ones, any kind. I also really liked tarantulas they were fuzzy and cute and I loved them. I don't know why but I found them so, so, so adorable! Everyone else, even my friends and family, thought they were creepy. That's why I thought of myself as unique, or just plain weird. One time I was walking through our local woods when I heard a really loud hissing noise. My heart lifted at the thought of maybe seeing an animal in the wild. I thought that it could maybe be a scared cat, maybe even a snake! When I looked behind the rock that I heard it from, what I saw was a spider. A GIANT spider. I have never seen a spider... or any bug... that big before in my entire life! I was astonished by how big it was. I wondered how a spider could have grown this big. It was looking around like it was lost, almost helpless. I tried to get closer to it but it heard me and turned my way. Seeing me there, it hissed and raised its legs in fear... or it was attempting to scare me? I didn't know but what I did know was that it was adorable. Its fur looked very soft and I all I wanted was to touch it. The sky was darkening though, so I had to go home. "It's almost bedtime!" I said as I started to walk home. I guess I didn't realize that the spider was following me home that evening. I couldn't even hear it, that's how stealthy spiders are. It dashed into the house behind me before I closed the door. I don't know how I didn't see the little guy sneak in behind me, but I didn't.
