*Harry's POV*

The lads and I all stood around, waiting for the girls to come down. It was promptly seven, and the driver had just showed up. Liam was a ways down the street, talking to his girlfriend, Dani. Just as I pulled out my phone to text Kate, a tiny but snarky voice greeted me.

"Not good enough for you, am I, Styles?" I looked up as Kate shot a wink my way. "Texting another girl to be your date instead?"

My breath hitched in my throat.

Christ; she was beautiful.

Her long blonde hair was curled, flowing loosely down her back. Her eyes shadowed dark with a nude lip and prominent cheeks. She was clad in a red chiffon high-low dress with a sweetheart top that made her curves pop. Her feet dawned some sort of strappy black heel. Her legs were long, bare and tanned.

She wasnt the only one who looked amazing. Her companion was right behind her. Leah Stone pulled off short hair extremely well. Her brown eyes had little makeup on them, but were rounded and full lashed. Unlike Kate's, her lips were pink and she had a blush to her cheek. She dawned a teal empire waisted maxi dress with nude heels underneath.

"You know, maybe you aren't good enough for me," I returned her wink with a cheeky smirk. She walked up to me and smacked my arm playfully.

"Shut up, Styles."

Leah and Louis engaged in conversation, Liam made his way back towards us. He didn't say anything, and he kept his composure, but it was apparent that his eyes made their way up and down the two girls appreciatively.

"Well don't you two look nice?" he said, greeting them both with hugs. He acted as if he'd known them for years. In reality, hours.

"Not too shaby yourself," Leah added with a geuine smile. The lads and I were dressed in button ups and dark jeans. All of us guys dressed pretty much the same now, incidentily.

"Shall we get going then?" Liam inquired. The girls nodded, just as he added, "there's a surprise for you at the restauraunt."

"What is it, what is it?" the girls questioned.

"Not telling!" he replied. "Now lets go!"

"Higgins, party of 8. Your table is ready," a monotone voice caled over the speaker.

"That's us," said Niall, towing the group forward. He was apparently hungry.

"Wait! But..there's not 8 of us.." Leah murmured quietly. That's when the surprise showed up.

"Katie! Leah!" cried Danielle, Liams girlfriend. She was dressed in a tight marroon dress with sheer sleeves and black heels. The girls ran for each other, embracing in a hug. The small talk erupted through the conversation and they hugged again.

When we reached the table, I pulled out a char for Kate, Louis doing the same for Leah and Liam for Dani. A waiter walked up just as the rest of us were seated, asking what drinks we wanted.

"A glass of pinot grigio, for me, please," Kate stated. She was the first to order. She tucked a stray piece of hair behind her ear and turned to Leah and Danielle once again. The red really complimented her skin color, I noted. Her eyes crinkled up in a smile and she flashed a picture perfect set of teeth.

"Stop staring, mate. And close your mouth. You'll catch a fly," whispered Zayn in my ear.

"Is it that obvious?"

"You're clearly infatuated with her." I grumbled at his response. I didn't get this way around girls. Not usually. Drink orders chorused around the table and I diverted my eyes from Kate once she met mine. She smiled at me, not saying anything. But it was enough to make my heart race in my chest. She turned away once again, continuing with her small talk.

"So, we've rented out the pool for a few hours when we get back. Do you want to join?" Niall asked.

"We'd love to," Kate smiled, running her thumb along the edge of her wine glass. "Dani, are you coming?" she asked, turning to the older girl. Danielle smiled and nodded.

"I'm staying at the hotel with the boys." Just then the food arrived, and thought the small talk continued it was spaced because everyone was eating the delicious food. Every few minutes a laugh or a giggle would emurge from one of the girls throats.

"I'm stuffed," Kate moaned, running a hand through her hair when we were done eating.

"You should be! You are more than all of us put togehter!" I sputtered. I'd literally just watched a tiny 5'7" girl eat more than her own weight in food.

"Hey! Dancing is haaaaaard work!" she protested. "Also, it was really, really good food. Thanks for paying, by the way." she looked at me and smiled. We were behind the group, we'd stayed back to pay when they went out to the limo to wait for us.

"How could I not play for someone so god damn beautiful?" at this, her cheeks flared and she averted her crystal blue eyes. I put my hand on the small of her back and pulled her towards me, so she couldn't look anywhere else. "I mean that, Kate. You really are amazingly beautiful."

She peeked up at me from beneath her eyelashes with a frown. "Thank you, Harry.." she pulled away from me and started towards the car. I decided not to bug her about it now, though it peaked my interest, the way this girl accepted a compliment.

I followed her to the car, trying my best to not let my eyes drift down past her shoulders. I climbed into the car after her, telling the driver where to take us. She was silent on the way home, and when she smiled, it didn't reach her eyes anymore. I wondered what my tiny compliment could've done to make her act like this. I brushed it off, singing along to the radio. Her knee brushed against mine and she looked at me with a small smile.

Everyone else was singing along with the music in the car, so only I heard her whisper, "I'm sorry for acting so rudely, Harry. It means a lot that you think to compliment me like you do."

"It's not a problem, love, not when it's the truth." I placed my hand on hers and gave an awkward pat before drawing it away and continuing singing the song, All of Me by John Legend. I looked straight at her as I sung the line, "How many times do I have to tell you, even when you're crying, you're beautiful too," with everyone else.

We pulled into the hotel not to soon after. Leah took off her heels and raced Niall up to our rooms. I heard Kate laugh from beside me. I looked over to see her bent over, pulling off her heels.

"What're you doing?" I asked, bewildered. She didn't strike me as the type of girl to run barefoot around hallways of a hotel.

"You're on, Styles!" she cried and stepped out of the limo. We were last out of the limo, but the other four weren't far ahead, taking their time while walking.

"Ready, 3...2...1!" she took off running, the red chiffon of her dress hiked up in her hand. We tore past the group. She was ahead of me, but I caught up when we made it to the doors. She shoved it open and sprinted inside the hotel. She looked back at me and peals of laughter twinkled from her throat. I grinned at her and sped up and blew past her. The elevator was in my sight, I was about to reach it, when she suddenly passed me up and slammed her hand down on the door.

"CHAMPION!" she screeched, grinning at me and spinning in a circle before stopping to bend over and put her hands on her knees, breathing hard.

"You're fast," I exclaimed.

"I know," she smirked. "Are we going swimming or not?"
