Tails was sitting on the edge of a cliff, staring into the big blue sky. He sighed and laid back. He opened his eyes to see Cosmo staring back at him. "Ahhh!" Tails quickly sat up, startled. "Sorry, Tails. Didn't mean to scare you." Cosmo giggled. Tails caught his breath "It's... Good to see you again." He hugged her. "Sorry. The things I need to study... It's engrossing." Cosmo apologized. "I understand. I'm the same way whenever I build something." Tails hugged her. "My genius." Cosmo complimented. "My love." Tails replied.
"So what were you doing on the cliff?" Cosmo asked. "Just reflecting. We've been together for five months now. Just wondering how far we've come, and how far we still have to go." Cosmo gave Tails' head a knock. "It doesn't matter, love. The here and now is what matters." Cosmo said. "True, but it's the past that got us here." Tails pointed out. "Also True." Cosmo admitted. "I have the day off. Want to love?" Tails asked. "You don't have to ask about that." Cosmo replied. She then picked Tails up and carried him inside the house. "Wheee!" Tails squealed. Cosmo laid Tails on the bed, and crawled next to him. "Cuddle Time." Cosmo said. Tails was already purring when she nuzzled her face against his.
"My little kitty." Cosmo teased, hearing Tails purr. Tails embraced her, bringing her close. "So smooth..." Tails purred, cuddling her chest. "So soft..." Cosmo responded. Tails stopped cuddling for a moment and placed his ear on Cosmo's chest. Her heartbeat waa all he heard. Tails purred "Such a peaceful sound..." Cosmo giggled and breathed through her stomach, raising Tails up and down. Tails kissed her passionately. "I love you, Cosmo..." "I love you too, Tails..." Tails resumed the kiss, holding it until he needed air. "That was beautiful, Tails... So sincere..." Tails caught his breath, and rolled Cosmo over so she was now on top of him. "I guess it's my turn now." Cosmo cuddled and kissed Tails all over as he purred. "Why don't we do this more often?" Tails questioned. "Because... The more we do it, the less meaningful and special it becomes." Cosmo said. "Every moment with you is a meaningful one. There's nothing more special in this world than you, Cosmo..." Tails lost his voice in a kiss that Cosmo initiated. "Less talk, more rock." Cosmo said simply, resuming the kiss.
"This world is beautiful." Cosmo said, withdrawing. "That's why you're studying it, right?" Tails asked, sitting up. "Yes. I want to know everything about it. What happens underground, and how it affects the surface. What's the fancy name for that again?" Cosmo asked. "Seismology. I'm surprised you forgot it, given the amount of studying you're doing." Tails chuckled. "As for myself, I'm creating more than just machines." Tails said proudly. "Yes. You're studying writing now." "Yep. I've found that creative writing can be just as euphoric as creating and fixing machines." Tails smiled. "Me too. Consider it a" "Shared hobby." Tails and Cosmo said together. "Beshert." Tails said. "Meant to be." Cosmo replied.
"We'll get there one day." Tails said, looking out a window. "There's only so much about this world I can learn. After that, then what?" Cosmo wondered. "Space. The cosmos and beyond. Who know. Maybe we'll find a world where someone writes about us." Cosmo chuckled. "How likely is that?" "Very. Who know what Chaos has in store for us. We could be pleasantly surprised." Tails thought. "Please, Tails. No philosophical talk. I can't handle it right now." Cosmo complained. "Sorry. Can't help it sometimes." Tails apologized with a chuckle.
"Let's watch the sunset together, Cosmo." Tails walked to the door. "Thought you would never ask." Cosmo replied. Tails walked with Cosmo in hand to the edge of the cliff. "I'll never forget how you confessed your love. It was so beautiful." Cosmo dreamed. "Beautiful? It was a right mess. All I could do was hint. It took me forever to come out and say it." Tails scoffed. "I thought it was cute. I wouldn't have recognized my love for you had you not confessed." "Yeah. It's a beautiful thing." Tails kissed Cosmo deeply. "Happy five months, Cosmo. I love you." "Happy five months, Tails. I love you too." They sat together by the cliff, watching the sun go down.
The stars came out. "The cosmos and beyond..." Cosmo repeated. "This world is big." Cosmo realized. "Huh. Here I thought you didn't like philosophical talk." Tails laughed. "What can I say. You rub off on me, love." Cosmo cuddled. "In more ways than one." Tails winked. "Again?" Cosmo asked, pointing to a lower part of Tails body. "I can't help it. You're so lovely..." Tails picked up Cosmo and ran into the house, and into the bedroom where he locked the door. Cosmo and Tails had a lot of fun that night. All that remained was panting. "I. Love. You. Cosmo." Tails panted. "I. Love. You. Too." Tails rested his head on Cosmo's chest and purred. "Goodnight, Cosmo. My dear, sweet, lovely Cosmo." Tails kissed her passionately. "Goodnight, Tails. My sweet, cute, smart Tails." Cosmo returned the kiss. "Happy five months..." Tails fell asleep, purring. "Happy five months." Cosmo fell asleep, also purring.
