It was like any other day, but also not. When I woke up, my mother was calling me with a worried voice. "Honey, I thought you'd be up sooner! It's 8:02! You should hurry!"
At this point, I didn't want to go to school, but the honking horns right outside my window, made me think otherwise. "I'm coming!" I said and I quickly threw on my white short-sleeved shirt, and my overalls, and headed downstairs.
Once I got downstairs, and sat in the wooden chair across from my mother, she pushed a white glass bowl of fruit loops towards me, with a spoon stuck in between two piles of cereal. "No milk?" I asked.
"Sorry huh, we ran out yesterday, I'll go shopping this afternoon..." My mother said this with glossy eyes, so I could tell she was trying to keep us alive and well. By this, I mean that she doesn't have the money to pay for this kind of stuff, but she tries her best. She is an amazing mother, but I always forget to say thanks, because I know that if I do, then she'll feel bad and lie to me, and say nothing's wrong.
"Okay." I said, and finished up my dry cereal. By the time I was done, it was already 8:27, and I needed to hurry.
When I got on the bus, Melody and Violet greeted me with their occasional smiles, and sat with me. We talked about our pets, and family for the entire bus ride. We slowly stepped off the bus, completely unaware of our surroundings, bumping into somebody's back.
"I'm so sorry!" we all yelled and looked up. It was the one and only love of my life, and we just bumped into him! He spun around, taking a break from his conversation.
Flashing one of his unbelievably perfect smiles to us, he said "Don't worry about it, oh! Mackenzie, I was just going to look for you!" Right then, I was so confused... He was going to look for ME?!
