I smiled, twirling twice where I stood. Black skinny jeans held tight to my legs, and a dark red strapless top flowed gently against my body. Sliding on my knee-high black boots, I smiled once again, laughing.
I snatched up my phone and hurried out of my room, and down the hallway. I smiled to myself as I entered the living room. Today was my fifteenth birthday. As I walked into the room, I saw that both of my parents were waiting on me. Their heads snapped up from their phones, and they smiled at me.
"There's that special birthday girl!" My mother said, hugging me. My father walked over and joined the hug.
"Fifteen years old... My baby is growing up so fast!" He said with a smile, eyes watery. He hugged me tighter, picking me off of the ground.
I laughed, and hugged him tighter. As he sat me down, I kissed his cheek. "What are we going to do?" I ask, as I slid on my jacket.
They just smiled at me, and ushered me out the door. I rolled my eyes playfully as I climbed into our black pickup truck. As I snapped my seatbelt into place, father started up the car, and the radio clicked on as we pulled out of the driveway.
I smiled, and sat back in my seat, staring out the window. The surrounding scenery blurred by as we drove down the highway. Soon, I got bored at staring at the flat plains of Oklahoma. Pulling out my phone, I crossed my legs.
I checked Twitter, and decided to tweet something. '@savannahh_rosee: Happy Birthday to ME! Finally 15! Yay me!' I tweeted, and I instantly got multiple retweets and comments; most of which were positive.
As I slid my phone back into my pocket, I heard a scream come from my mother. My head shot up. The last thing I remember was the front windshield shattering into pieces as we collided with a semi-truck. Everything went black almost instantly.

*Beep. Beep. Beep.* The distant sound of something beeping rang throughout the room. I rolled over onto my back, and slowly forced my eyes open. Machines of all sizes surrounded me. I looked down at my body to see that multiple IV's were hooked up to me.
I bit my lip, looking around. I took in my situation. I was in a hospital now, hooked to a trillion machines, which were beeping annoyingly. I groaned, letting out a muttered curse. I hated hospitals. My parents knew it too.
Parents... Where were my parents? Shouldn't they be with me? I started panicking, my breaths growing short. As I searched the room for them, my eyes skimmed across a red button that was labeled 'Help.
Before I could sustain myself, my fingers shot to the button, and pressed it. I needed help didn't I? I shrugged, and sat back. Within moments, my door flew open, and about five nurses rushed in. I whimpered as they drew closer.
"Hello love. You're finally awake. I'm Nurse Kayla. How are you feeling?" Kayla said with a smile, as she removed my IV's. I let out a sigh as they moved the machines.
I looked up at her. "I'm fine. How are my parents?" I ask. The room falls silent, and Kayla stares at me with remorse. She sighs, and closes her eyes for a moment.
"I said... How are my parents?" I ask again, looking around. The other nurses in the room look at Kayla, and then leave. I bite my lip, panicking again. Where are my parents? Why won't she tell me?! I huff, frustrated.
Kayla opens her eyes, and this time, tears brim her eyes. "Savannah, love," She started, sitting on the edge of the bed. "Your parents died in the car wreck. They died almost instantly. We were lucky enough to even save you. It was horrific. I'm so sorry love." She said, squeezing my hand.
I froze, shocked. I closed my eyes, whimpering. My own parents had died. Then, I lunged forward into Kayla's arms. I sobbed, and she held me close, shushing me. She rubbed my back as I cried.
After a while, I sat back up, rubbing my eyes. Kayla stared at me, still upset. "Well, we called your aunt and she is going to take you home today. Can you get up and get ready?" She asked, and I nodded.
She smiled, and stood. "Just holler if you need help." She said, and walked out the door. I sat there for a moment, suddenly too exhausted to do anything. Finally, I sighed, and threw my legs over the side of the hospital bed, standing.
I walked over to the pile of the clothes that sat in the corner, and slowly pulled them on. Turning, I walked over to the mirror and gasped. My upper cheek was cut, I had bruises all over my arms, and my eyes were red and puffy from crying.
I braided my long, wavy brown hair to the side, and then slid on my boots. Once I was done, I made my way to the door. Just as I placed my hand on the doorknob, the door swung open, knocking me over.
I hit the ground hard, moaning dramatically. Scrunching up my nose, I looked up, and smiled. "Aunt Krystal!" I squealed, jumping to my feet. She embraced me in a hug, laughing. I smiled up at her.
Krystal was a tall, slim looking girl, in her mid twenties. She was my absolute favorite aunt of mine. She had waist-length black hair, dark blue eyes, and she was tall. In my opinion, she was better than a model!
She hugged me tighter. "Hey Savvy!" She said, using my nickname. She pulled away a little. "I'm so sorry. Once I heard, I came as quick as I could." I smiled, as she kissed my forehead.
"Now, are you ready to go? I was thinking we could just drop by your house so you could pack real quick." She said, and I nodded. With that, I was drug out the door.
