I couldn't believe it! There I was, sitting in front of the drawer with my jaw wide open. There was a wig with curly red hair, a false ID, a fake driver's license, a journal, and a cell phone. I grabbed a plastic sack out if my purse; I always keep them with me, you never know when you will need it. I dumped everything that was in the drawer into the bag. As i have mentioned before, if it was hidden, she didn't want her dad to see. I put the drawer back and made sure everything was back to normal just as soon as the doorknob turned. Mr. Kondin walked in.
"Hey Christy. Any luck?"
"No," I had to get out of here. "I don't think the police missed anything this time..." Here's something you should know about me...I am not the best actress ever. I can act like Kristen Stewart, not very well. (A/N no offense to anyone!)
"Um... okay then."
"I guess I should be on my way then!"
"Do you not want to check out the attic?" Megan, Alica, and I loved to play in the attic. We always hid things under the floor boards. "She went up there A LOT!" He really emphasized a lot.
"Um, I guess I should." He walked me up to the attic.
"The door is locked. She hid the key... Crap! I think there is a spare key somewhere around here." he looked around. On the door frame and in the plant next to the door. There weren't many other places to look, but I knew one.
"I could go for some more tea," I said so I could get in the one spot we used to always hide it.
"Um, right now? Shouldn't we find the key fir..." This time I cut him off.
"Yeah. I can look around, possibly find the key."
"Well, if you say so..." He went to the kitchen again.
I walked around finding the one spot that is always squeaky. There was one floor board, the one that was all torn up. Megan and I would get out forks and pry up the board. The last few years, we didn't have to do that. It was just so worn down that our hands could fit. I moved the plant pot and pulled up the board. There was a key, I grabbed it and quickly moved the pot back. Mr. Kondin was back up stairs faster than I had expected.
"Oh! You found it! Where was it?"
"Well... Um...It was...um..." I looked around, trying to find a spot that would do as an excuse. "OH!! It was under the rug."
"Mmhhh." He didn't seem to believe me. Like I said, bad actress... He stretched out his hand for the key, pushed the key in the hole, and pushed open the door. We both coughed as the dust bunnies came jumping up. The room was dark and had a hint of light coming from the small round window in the side if the wall. Mr. Kondin gasped.
