Part of the reason Terrence found refuge in this group of misfits is because she didn't belong anywhere either. Part of the reason she didn't belong was because of her ex-boyfriend Kade.
    Kade was different, he was odd in the way he acted like he was 2 different people on a daily. One day he was kind and smart and funny, the next he would be an asshole who didn't know how to control his fists. The second person came more often than not.
  He would hurt Terrence not just with he fists but also his words. He would call her a "cunt" and "a worthless bitch" . She didn't know how to get away from him especially since all she had know was her family and they had left her because of the hurtful person Kade was. While Kade was being bipolar, another person decided to get in the mix.
   Kade's best friend Josh. Josh would sexually harass Terrence and he also threatened her daily life. Josh lived down the street from her and they worked together and went to the same school. Once she sent him pictures of her in her underwear just to feel safe for a day.
   Terrence couldn't go anywhere because of the fear that his car would be driving down the street. She couldn't handle the fear of either them walking to her house and hurting her, or taking something she didn't want to give up.
   Kade and Josh are her demons, Kade and Josh wanted to cause her pain...she will never heal from them, she can never heal from them.
