Chapter 4:

Liam:

She was lying. I could see it in her eyes, but.. why? I mean, you're suppose to want to be with your mate, right? And I was just asking to go to the movies. Frustrated, I left the school, to see my dad.

"Dad!" I called out, as I entered the house. "In the library, son." I heard his deep voice, bellow out. I walked the remaining steps to the small library we had. "Dad?" I questioned, entering the room. "Shouldn't you be in school? He asked. "Dad! I need help!" I almost yelled. I was beyond frustrated now, and there was my dad, chuckling to himself. "Son, sit down." He said, gesturing to the small armchair across from his seat. "Dad, how do you know you've found your mate?" His didn't say anything at first, probably thinking about the first time he met my mom. I took this time to study my dad, he had bright blue eyes, the direct opposite of my brown ones, which was given to me from my mom. He did, however have the same brown hair as me, while my mom had a dark blond color.

"Well.." He began. "The day I met her, I had this nervous feeling in my stomach, I suppose it was my wolf knowing we would be meeting her. And then when we locked eyes, I was attracted to her, and she smelled wonderful. Well she still does, but I'm just saying.." He said, starting to ramble. "Dad, continue.. please." He nodded his head, getting back to the main point. "But when we touched.. there was this feeling.. like electricity, running through my veins." I nodded, my head, comparing the things he was saying, to my earlier encounter. "And when I heard her voice, it sounded as if an angel was singing. Oh, but when we mated, that was ama-" "DAD" I yelled. "I don't want to here about you, and mom having sex!" I said, getting up. "It's making love." He mumbled. I rolled my eyes, and of coarse he was chuckling. "Well anyway, I've found my mate." I said in a low voice. He immediately stopped laughing, and pulled me into a hug. "Congratulations, Son!" He replied. "Well.. she's a human, and doesn't know." I said. He let me out of the hug, and sat back down. "Well that's OK, she'll still be a good mate." He stated. "That's not the thing, she doesn't really talk to me.. or anybody else, just her friend Elly. But I know she's hiding something from everybody, there's a reason she doesn't want to talk to me." My dad nodded his head slowly. "Well you have to be patient, she'll be comfortable with you soon, its an instinct, her attraction towards you." He said. I nodded, and left the room, feeling a little better.

I stepped out of the house, and changed into my wolf, ready for a run. There was no point in going back to school, it ended in 10 minutes anyway. I jogged slowly through the forest for a while, and was hit with that alluring scent again. I knew who it was, but why was she in the forest, shouldn't she be home?

I kept on going, following her amazing scent. It came to a halt when I was at the meadow. There she was, sitting in the grass, around the flowers. She looked beautiful, majestic even. I walked slowly up to her, trying not to scare her, and with my luck, I stepped on a twig. She turned around quickly. She didn't scream, or move, or do anything really, she just closed her eyes, and turned back around.

I kept walking to her, and sat beside her. She turned to face me and a small smile played on her lips. 'YES!" I wanted to shout, she wasn't scared of me, its our bond!

I put my head on her lap, allowing access to pet me. She understood the gesture, and put her hand on my head, slowly stroking my fur. I could tell she was nervous, her hand was slightly shaking.

I heard her sigh. so I looked up curiously. "Can I name you?" She asked. I nodded my head, she looked surprised to know that I could understand her. "OK. . then.. can I name you Fido or something?" I looked at her, Fido seriously? I wanted to say, but I just nodded my head, whatever made her happy. "OK then Fido.. do you come her a lot?" She asked. I shook my head, and she nodded. "Well, I come here when I need to think.." I tilted my head to the side, what was troubling her? "Well you see.. there's this new boy at school.. Liam.. he's nice, and wanted me to go to the movies with him, but I have this thing.. that I don't want to explain now, but I just can't trust people.. I'm weird right?" I shook my head no.

"Well what should I do?" She asked. I opened and closed my mouth, pretending to talk. "Uh.. eat? No.. Sing? Talk?" She guessed. I nodded my head quickly. "Talk? We should talk? Well I guess I could try.." She said. I stood up quickly, and nudged her to get up, it was getting late, and she should go home.

"Thank you." She murmured, and leaned down to give me a hug. I watched her walk off, and couldn't help but do a mental happy dance, she was going to talk to me.
