She is afraid. Who am I kidding, I'm terrified too. My knees tremble. There is no way out of this. They know. They know who we are. At least I think so. They pull her away from me, screaming my name "Ellen!" I can't say anything. My mouth drops as they hit her. Her nose bleeds like a facet. I cover my face. I close my eyes.

"Who is she? Not your sister?"
"No." I shake my head.
I'm a liar, we are sisters. I am the older one. I should be saving her. Not taking the easy way out, pretending be someone I'm not. I am a Jew. It's not my fault I have blonde hair, blue eyes, pale skin. I may be only half Jewish, but I am one of them. I see my mother in the waiting room. Her long blonde hair tied behind her head. Her baby blue frock sways around her ankles, her eyes glancing at the clock every few seconds.
"Your mother?" The soldier asks in a thick accent.
Nodding, I get up. The soldier's black boots thump against the hard wood floor. He towers over me, tipping his army green hat, he opens the glass door. I go to her, I hug her. I tremble in her strong arms. I feel safe. All I think is "They have Sarah."
