"How could telling me something 'destroy the world'?" I asked. It just didn't make since. Maybe that was the adrenaline speaking, though. She had learned a lot in the past 30 minutes.
"Betrayal leads to destruction, honey. I doubt you've noticed that before, " said Lukas sarcastically, "And the gods don't like it when you betray them."
I was an atheist, so I wasn't really religious which is why these words even floated in my mind, "Lukas, there are no such things as gods. We were all made to just live and die." Plain and simple, right.
"Then explain to me, Ms. Know-it-all, how was the first man created? All things have a beginning," he said. And when I drew a blank face, my sign of defeat, he smiled, proud of his victory, "So, as I was saying, this god, Horsfay, was created by the stars--"
"So explain to me, Sir Smart allelic, how were the stars created?"
"Why, that's simple, the stars had, and still do, feed off of radiation of time, which isn't an object so it can't have a beginning, they receive much more...power, for a lack of better terms, because humans do things that they feel speed up time, that's because Father Time, Kinjor, actually does speed up time, only from the perspective of a few people, though. Anyway! As I was saying, again, Horsfay was created by the stars. He had already been developed in his full, godly form because he, too, fed off the power of time.--"
Lukas was again interrupted by the sound of glass shattering and an angry, booming god standing before us.
