Alissa blinked a few times as she took in the stranger who had offered to pay for the glass she broke. Why was he talking to her? He was gorgeous. His skin was a smooth tan color, and she could see his muscles pretty clearly despite his button up shirt. He was tall, so tall she was had her head almost looking straight up to see him. But it was his eyes that struck her to her core. They were so dark they were almost black. His lips were pulled down in a slight frown and she had this weird urge to stand up and gently push them into a smile.
“Are you okay?” He spoke again and she could see his teeth were perfectly straight and white. He was almost perfection personified.
“Oh! Uhm, yeah. I’m fine.” Alissa finally managed to get out and the guy seemed to relax a bit. He ran a hand through his hair before stepping forward and pulling out the seat that was next to her.
“Can I sit?” He asked and she nodded slowly, still not sure why he was talking to her. Though, she could feel the stares from the other girls and part of her was glad for the attention. Then he sat down and his leg brushed hers. She sighed at the heat he radiated and had to refrain from leaning towards him.
“Are you over here for money?” Alissa suddenly asked and he frowned at her, shaking his head. Jeeze, even sitting down he towered over her. Though it was partly the way he held himself, she figured. He kept himself upright and though he was looking down at her, his head was still held high.
“Of course not. I just saw you come over here and wanted to make sure you’re okay.” The guy said and she stared at him for a minute.
No way. Guys never just came over to see if she was okay. Ever. She eyed his face, trying to see what he was hiding, but all she could see was concern, which was odd as he didn’t know her.

Tristan wasn’t sure what he said, but his mate was staring at him as he just told her he was the Queen of England. He could hear the snide remarks of the girls of the group she came with and it honestly pissed him the fuck off. Who cared if she wasn’t the skinniest? Made her sturdier for in the bedroom. Who cared if she wasn’t the most beautiful girl in the world? She was the sun in his sky, beautiful in her own way. But he sensed that his mate needed more than the girls needed a lecture.
“You… are over here to make sure I’m okay?” His mate slowly said and shook her head slowly, her eyes displaying her disbelief.
“Yes. Why is that so hard to believe?” He asked and brought a hand up to touch her cheek gently. He saw her eyes flutter for a moment and she leaned into his hand as if she always did before leaning away.
“I’m not the kind of girl guys check to make sure are okay.” His mate managed to get out after a minute, though he could see her leaning toward him now, her body seeking his. His wolf was pleased at that. He was pleased at that. Though her comment did piss him off.
“Well to me, you are.” He said in a firm voice. There would be no argument. His girl sucked in a breath and opened her mouth but he narrowed his eyes and she paused before leaning back in her chair in silence. She had a spine, good. His Alpha female needed one, but with him, she would learn when to speak her mind and when not to. If she said something stupid right then, he didn’t think he’d be able to keep up the human façade. He’d probably kidnap her and take her home then show her who was in charge in a much more… physical way.
“What’s your name?” He asked after a minute. God, he didn’t even know her name and he was hooked.
“Alissa.” She answered and tilted her head. “And you are?”
“Tristan.” He smiled, pleased he got her name and she smiled back like it was an automatic response. He felt like a girl as his chest tightened when he saw her smile. Sweet. She looked so sweet when she smiled. He couldn’t resist touching her again and brought his hand back up to her face, trailing his fingers down her cheek. A sigh escaped her and he trailed his hand down to neck before running his thumb over her pulse slowly. His wolf was rising as he saw her slowly submitting to him, the desire to claim her was rising as well, but he knew he had to be patient.
