I puffed my cheeks in annoyance as I walked down the halls of the academy. Where was everyone? The academy seemed silent and empty, like everyone had just left. Looking around at the walls and the cracks of doors for any sign of movement I continued walking. Then suddenly, all the lights dimmed dangerously low and a heavy sensation laid on my chest, feeling as if someone laid a small child on my rib cage.

I pulled my katana out of the sheath and looked around my eyebrows furrowed in concentration "alright guys very funny haha! Turn the lights back on and lower the heat!" my voice echoed through the hallway. silence.

A rumbling growl echoed from the other side of the hallway and closer it got with every waiting second i stood there until the creature came into sight. Little creatures with beady red eyes hulked low to the ground and scurried towards me screeching as they spotted me. Letting out a an annoyed shout i swung my sword and cut them in half sending them back to Gehenna where they belonged.

I huffed annoyed and ran the opposite way down the hallway, weren't there suppose to be traps that kept demons from entering True Cross?! Some academy, Mephisto seriously needs to update his defenses.

I continued running until my lungs felt like they were about to burst out of my chest. I leaned forward my hands on my knees and breathed heavily for a few moments until I catch my breath. Standing up straight I take in my surroundings, I was in a massive room with tables pressed against the walls. An ominous feeling crept in my chest as i looked over at the looming shadow in the back left corner.

Yellow eyes gazed at me and the heavy weight slammed back on my chest. I went down to one knee, feeling as though the world's gravity had spiked, sweat dripped down my brow as i craned my head slowly forward.

Walking out of the shadows was a massive beast with four muscular legs, and two tiny hands just at the shoulders of the front legs. It's head looked like a human but had two mouths looking as though they were unzipped, a tongue slithered out of the bottom mouth as drool plopped onto the ground causing it to sizzle.

I pulled my sword out once more, arms trembling. My mother and father talked about this beast, but yet I couldn't remember how to kill it. All of my fear had caused my mind to go blank and body stiff. The beast lunged and headbutt me in the stomach sending me flying across the classroom. As my back slammed against the wall, the wind was knocked out of my lungs and i sat on the ground in shock, mouth agape and eyes widened. It struck for me again but I had come to my senses and my right hip nearly missed getting struck by one of it's claws.

With no one around to heal me, it wasn't the best to get blighted. I ran around the classroom jumping around dodging its swipes and went for the door. It was locked!? But i didn't close the door and the beast was far away from it! Turning around hastily I stood with my sword outstretched and narrowed my eyes. Running around like this wasn't going to get me out of safety.

Taking a deep breath I lightly grazed my forefinger across my blade and spoke "sword blessed from the heavens above, give me your strength and do not fail me!" I bolted forward as it raised it's left arm to rake it's claws against me, taking the chance i swung my sword in a curved motion to the right and sliced across it's chest slicing off it's left leg and mini arm sending it to the ground in shrieking pain as it dissipated into the void.

I stood there huffing heavily, strands of my hair was plastered to my neck with sweat as my arm hang loosely against my side, my katana tipping the floor. Suddenly the lights went back on and swarms of Exorcists came from the ceiling.

"what the!?" I yelled in confusion, whirling around i saw my friends behind me dusting off their clothes, most looking at me with approving glances. "you guys were here the whole entire time watching as I about died!?"

"But you didn't die" Konekomaru countered.

"well yeah but it was pretty darn close! Why didn't you help if you were here this entire time, I thought you were all on a mission!?"

"They were~ As spectators my dear, and if they were to intervene that would mean that the test would then be canceled." Mephisto cooed as he walked from behind my friends twirling his mini umbrella.

"Test!? This was the test, what the crap!"

"And you passed with flying colors well done my dear! Your dear mother and father would be oh so proud of you!" Mephisto praised.

"Yay! Now we can go to (f/n)'s house!" Shima shouted with delight raising a fist in the air.

The next hour or so had flown like a breeze, medics were examining me to ensure I hadn't been hit or my friends were talking to me about my test, some telling me how they thought I should have handled a certain situation.

The only one not eager to say anything was Bon, he stood in the doorway, his gaze drilling into my soul as he lowered his eyebrows in concentration. Like earlier when he was searching for something, but with more ferocity. I gripped the hilt of my blade and placed it back into my sheath. I was now in the Knight Class of the True Cross Academy Exorcists. But it seemed like my adventure was just beginning.
