Did WWE Ruin SmackDown For The Sake Of Improving Raw?
WWE has recently shipped Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt, Alexa Bliss, The Miz (+maryse)
After all, the so called "Flagship" show..but Smackdown Live! has been called the real flagship show due to the quality programming.. from the way it has pushed new stars to the way they started feuds.
Even statistics and data suggested Smackdown is now better than RAW, a thought that would have been unthinkable a few years back.
According to WWE Corporate, SmackDown averaged a 1.62 rating at the end of 2015, and by the end of 2016, that number skyrocketed to 1.90, a result of a number of factors, including SmackDown's top superstars consistently delivering the goods and even helping SmackDown generate more TV viewers than Raw last December. In addition, SmackDown house shows have recently started to outdraw those of Raw, with the blue brand averaging 4,500 fans per show in February in comparison to just 3,500 for the red brand.
So what does Vince do?? He strips most talent that made smackdown successful (even though some talent that is GREAT and talented are on smackdown)
We couldn't have our "B-Show" defeat our "A-Show" could we?
Some may call the notion that McMahon actually wants Raw to outperform SmackDown nothing more than a conspiracy theory, but the roster moves made during the "Superstar Shakeup" certainly appear to support the belief that McMahon wants Raw to be the A-show. After all, SmackDown has lost a number of key figures from a nearly perfectly constructed roster that helped the brand's ratings ascend to new heights and allowed its live events to become bigger attractions than those of Raw.
SmackDown found the right recipe for its show, focusing on a core group of talents (mainly the aforementioned names) who helped the show's ratings rise at the same time that Raw's ratings tanked. But then, the "Superstar Shakeup" suddenly shipped several of the blue brand's most pivotal pieces to Raw.
Even with Raw shipping few major stars to SmackDown last 2 weeks, that won't change the fact that McMahon and WWE rushed into the "Superstar Shakeup" and made far too many changes to the blue brand, maybe out of fear that Raw was being legitimately replaced as the A-show. Not just in terms of perception, but in reality, in ratings and in attendance.
Now we wait to see what RAW does with the talent. Hopefully they get treated as they did on Smackdown..
Opinions? Thoughts?? My personalized opinion is maybe they actually did ship some of their great stars to raw cause they were afraid. And yes, although raw gave them charlotte and Jericho and Sami + more it kinda confuses me
But it is just a conspiracy!
