Chapter 4

Their Story

 

Nikka’s P.O.V.

 

Nagising ako ng wala si Enzo sa tabi ko, somehow I felt sad. I was hoping he would stay with me all night.

I really like him since I got to know him more sa party ni Erika at Matt when they got back a few months ago.

Everybody was dancing kasi and we’re the only ones who was left in or seats. Bigla syang lumapit saakin…

“Hi. Nikka, right?”

 

“Yes. Sorry, have we met before?”

 

“Ahhh… yes. But I believe we had a wrong start. Dinner sa bahay nila Erika.”

 

I remembered him as Erika’s boyfriend before. He even proposed on Erika’s birthday. And ininvite din ako dati sa kasal dapat nila ni Erika. “Oo nga. Anieka Pertale.” Tapos inabot ko yung hand ko sakanya so we could shake hands.

 

“Enzo Villafuerte.” He gave me his killer smile and whispered in my ear. “Do you want to get out of here? Puro kasi lovers eh.”

 

Nagnod lang ako and he led me to his car sa parking lot. Pumunta kami sa isang place na walang kahit anong ingay. It was like an edge of a cliff na nakikita mo na yung buong manila.

 

He opened his car’s back door and doon kami umupo while we were drinking san mig light. Umupo lang kami doon and stared at the view for a few minutes.

 

“So you’re Matt’s cousin pala.”

 

“Yeah. I just got here. Having a vacation. Eh ikaw? You’re Erika’s boyfriend right.”

 

He smiled at me weakly. “Hindi na ngayon. Sila na ni Matt ulit diba? I don’t want to freak you out or anything, but do you mind if I open up sayo?”

 

“Sige lang… I’m gonna listen.”

 

“Alam mo Nikka, pag nagmahal ka, don’t waste time. Kung alam mong wala ng patutunguhan yung relationship, just leave it. Para hindi ka na masaktan katulad ko.” Tumawa sya ng fake. “Ang sakit kasi eh. Ang sakit, sakit. For years, I thought Erika would love me the way I loved her, kaya lang wala.”
