Chapter 5

Love Conquers It All

 

Matteo’s P.O.V.

“Calling all passengers of flight 428 bound to Manila. The gates are now open for boarding. Thank you.”I immediately stood up from my seat when I heard the call for boarding.

Yes, babalik na ako ng Manila after a few days ng pagiisip. Hindi naman siguro masama if I have some time alone muna noh? The surprise hit me like a rock fell down from the sky. Masakit, of course. Knowing that your wife is carrying a child which is not yours.

Pero ano pa nga ba magagawa ko diba? Nanjan na yan eh. I’m not mad or anything pero I just need to think thing over sa kung anong mangyayari in the future.

Fist of all, ang unang matatamaan ng incident na ‘to is yung reputation namin. Not only Erika and I’s reputation but also our parents’ and Enzo’s. Second, what will happen to the baby? What name will the baby bear after he or she arrives in this world. And third, will everything be okay?

So many things about but only one thing has been roaming around my mind and that is kung kamusta na si Erika. Naisip ko na hindi ganun kahirap yung pagbubuntis niya because she went through 3 months without any of us noticing. And to be surprised na kahit na-accident sya before and muntik na syang mamatay, the baby is still alive.  

I know na hindi ko dapat iniwan si Erika the day na nalaman ko yun dahil makakasama sakanya ang sobrang pagiisip, pero nadala kasi ako ng galit and hindi ko rin maalis saakin yung hurt.

Masakit kasi, nalaman ko na behind my back, kahit Erika and I were not in good terms, something happened to Enzo and her when we were still married. Samantalang ako, I didn’t even dared to look for another woman while she was gone. I waited six years. Six long years for her to return and hindi ko maexplain how happy I felt when I saw her again.

After a few months we got back, got married again, and then boom! Surprise! My wife’s pregnant with another guy. :(

Pero kahit papano, I’m relieved na si Enzo ang daddy because alam ko na matinong tao si Enzo at hindi niya papabayaan si Erika at yung baby nila.

“Excuse me, sir. Your boarding pass please?” My thoughts were stopped when the I noticed that I was already in the entrance of the aircraft and the flight stewardess was asking for my boarding pass.
