"Woo Hee, I can't bare to loose someone again. Please, don't even think about doing it. Think about how Baek-ah would feel. He has never felt this love, ever.. And every since he met you, his world changed. You're his everything...."
"What what about his family-"
"Who cares about what they think." I cut her off. I took her hands and smiled weakly, "Just be with him. You both could run away some place, and be happy."
Woo Hee lightly scoffed at me, "Aigoo, you're really something. You really are perfect for Jung."
I laughed, hugging her. "I suppose so."
~End of Flashback~
"Please stay friends with Soo, and the King.. I'm not sure what's going to happen to me, but please.." Jung patted Baek-ah's shoulder with teary eyes.
I took Jung's hand, looking up at Baek-ah as he nodded. Baek-ah looks up over ahead, but quickly runs off with fear in his eyes.
I also looked over, widen my eyes as the bloodshed visions I had came to mind. Woo Hee was standing precariously atop the gates. The banner reading "Later Three Kingdoms: Reunification of Goryeo, Baekje, and Silla" hangs.
"Woo Hee!" I screamed, letting go of Jung's hand to grab my dress and running.
"Omo! Princess! Please step away from the edge!!" The slaves worriedly urged her.
Baek-ah and I ran up to confront her, knowing what it is that she’s thinking of doing.
"Woo Hee, what are you doing..?"
"Woo Hee.... Please, I beg you not to do this..." Tears streamed my cheeks.
"If you see, you won't ever forget this.." Woo Hee tearfully says.
Then steps off the ledge. My eyes widen as I ran towards the ledge to grab her hand. Nut I was too late, seeing her body hitting the ground.
I cried out her name, and rapidly turning around to reach her. Baek-ah right behind me, ran faster and held onto Woo Hee.
"Woo Hee!" I screamed, falling onto the ground as I reached her with Baek-ah.
"I thought I could ignore it and live my life," she weakly says, "I was going to deny my parents. But I can't turn my back on my people, who look to me as a mother. I don’t think I have the strength to live like that. Goryeo and Baekje, Gyeon Hwon and Taejo Wang Geon. I will pay for their sins with my life. Perhaps… this is the reason I was born..."
"Woo Hee, please.." Baek-ah cried.
I cried as well, leaning to grab her hands. Woo Hee smiled over at us, slowly closing her eyes.
"No... Woo Hee..." I cried a bit louder, and lowering my head.
Baek-ah clutched onto Woo Hee’s lifeless body and sobbing. "Please... I love you.. I love you, Woo Hee.."
Later that night, I stayed outside to watch the stars. The dark skies filled with small bright twinkles.
"When a life ends, a new star is born.... I hope that you're all happy up there.." I weakly smiled, tears slipping out from my eyes. "And the time will come for me..."
"Your Highness, please go inside. It is cold outside." Court Lady Park called for me.
"In a moment!" I turned away, pulling out my handkerchief to harshly coughing into it. The pain in my throat made me want to look. Blood.. "Child... Is this your doing..?" I placed a hand over my belly, coughing again. "Or is it me?"
~The Next Day~
I tightly clenched onto my dress, the most pain I felt during my pregnancy. I gasped for air, wanting to scream, but couldn't.
I coughed out blood once again. Blood trickled down my mouth as I weakly crawled out of my bed, and reaching for the door.
"I-Is anyone out there..?! P-Please..!" I struggled, but managed to say.
The doors opened, "Your Highness-" Court Lady Park gasped, dropping the tray.
I coughed again, leaning to my side to give up. My vision becoming blurry, but the familiar faces of my mother and older brother.
"Call the royal pyshician! Quickly!!"
"Your Highness!"
My eyes slowly opened, seeing the royal pyshician as he placed two fingers over my wrist.
He placed it back down and demanded the nurse to pack away. Then he got up, right in time as I grabbed onto his sleeves. I placed my other hand over my belly.
"My child..... What's wrong with my child..?"
"Your Highness.. I am sorry, but the baby is gone. It's a miscarriage..."
Tears flooded my eyes immediately. I stared at him, my grip loosened as I started panicking.
"No.. I-... No, my child can't! Not my child!" I cried.
"Your Highness.." Court Lady Park held me back onto my bed.
"My child... Jung's child.. Jung- I need him! His punishment starts today!"
I limped out of bed, ignoring and pushing all the maids and court ladies aside that urged to have me back in bed to rest.
Jung had all his things packed, ready to leave. Still limping, I tried running towards him with tears.
"Jung!"
"Hee Young.."
I weakly tackled him, wrapping my arms around his neck as I fell onto the ground.
"Our baby is gone... It's gone.." I sobbed over his chest.
"W-What do you mean..?"
"It's all my fault that our baby is gone..!"
Jung stroked my hair, "It's not your fault.. You certainly can't blame yourself for all the painful years..."
I looked up at him, cupping my hands on his cheeks. "How about I come with you..? To your hometown?"
"I have to take care of Soo.... But I love you, Hee Young." He took one of my hands, pulling something out and slipping in onto a finger. "This isn't the perfect moment, but I wanted to do this before I leave. I love you, Hee Young. Not matter where I am, or what happens, I will always love you, snd our son. So, will you marry me?"
Tears rushed down my cheeks, "Of course..."
Jung smiled, bring me close. I tried smiling up at him, embracing him, and finally kissing his warm lips. I just wanted to enjoy the last moment I have left with him before he leaves..
